Cisco 819 Config

Configuring 3G
The configuration of 3G is simple for those who are familiar with the Cisco IOS
and the configuration of APNs in mobile.
Although this configuration was made on the 819, I believe that not change much
for the other models.
1) In global configuration mode, configure the modem initialization script. Reco
mmend copy and paste this line to be no mistake.

2) In the privileged mode of configuration, create a GSM profile, stating the nu
mber of the profile, the name of the APN, authentication type, username and pass
word.

Note that we used a SIM card of course. If so, make the appropriate changes.
3) Set the DDR - Dial-on-Demand Routing. Here you can specify what type of traff
ic will start the 3G connection through the access-list.

3.1) Set the line 3 to allow the 3G connection, using the previously created pro
file. Should always be used to line 3.

4) Enter interface configuration mode, configure PPP (username, password, authen
tication type, ip address and async mode), and the parameters of dialer.

5) The configuration of 3G was completed in step 4. Now just do the common confi
guration for navigation (route and NAT).

The router can give ping 8.8.8.8 source vlan 1 for the connection to be initiali
zed. If everything is right, just browse.

Troubleshooting
We can use the debug ppp authentication command, debug ppp negotiation and debug
chat line 3 to verify PPP negotiation and execution of the modem script.
We also have the command show cellular 0 all that behind all the information rel
ated to cellular 0 interface.
