POSITION REQUIRES WORKING A ROTATING SCHEDULE; 7:00 A.M. TO 6:30 P.M., 7

The City of Fort Worth – Animal Care and Control Division is seeking to hire a qualified applicant to assist with
animal care. Under general supervision, performs animal care tasks and shelter upkeep to maintain a clean and
disease free environment for impounded animals.

The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities for this position: High School Diploma or GED required, plus at least six (6)
months of work experience in handling domestic animals and shelter upkeep preferred. Preference may be given to
applicants with higher levels of education and experience. Extensive public contact work experience is required.
Some computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel, are highly desirable.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required.

Essential functions:

1. Clean kennel runs, cages, and shelter buildings
2. Feed, water and care for impounded animals.
3. Relocate animals from trucks and cages.
4. Euthanizes unclaimed and unadoptable animals.
5. Document animal dispositions in a computer record keeping system.
6. Assist the public looking for lost or adoptable pets.
7. Assist field officers in unloading, checking in and relocating animals in the shelter.
8. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Environmental Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to a variety of domestic and wild animals;
inclement weather conditions.

Physical Conditions: Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for
standing for prolonged periods of time; heavy, moderate or light lifting; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.

The City of Fort Worth is seeking to hire an Equipment Operator for the Code Compliance/Solid Waste Division.
This position will greet citizens, verify residency and enter information in computer. Inspect contents and estimate
cubic yards of loads before allowing entry into the Facility drop-off area; and ensure material is in compliance with
federal and state regulations. Enter illegal dump and other pertinent data into the computer; verify and ensure CFW
solid waste fees have been paid. Direct traffic at facility and maintain facility to ensure debris is properly
containerized and spills are cleaned up as they occur. Operate and maintain packing mechanism on stationary waste
compactors at facility. Extract CFC refrigerant from refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Operate 313D
Caterpillar to manually pack debris in roll–off containers; relocate waste when necessary. Notify hauling contractor
when roll-off waste containers need to be transported to the landfill; maintain cleanliness of the drop off facility by
picking up litter and dumped material and mowing grass in and around drop off facility. Maintain records as required
by state regulatory agencies.

The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge,
skills and abilities for this position: High School Diploma or GED with additional specialized training in
motorized equipment operations PLUS two (2) years of experience in operation of motorized equipment required.
Preference may be given to higher levels of education, experience and certifications as related to the vacancy. Basic
computer skills, i.e., data entry, internet, email, are preferred.

This is a heavy public contact position.

Possession of an appropriate CDL class "A" or "B" is required.

Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Waste Screening Certificate and a Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Extraction
Certificate is required.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting,
standing, and walking for long periods of time; moderate and heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, kneeling,
bending, reaching, pushing, pulling; ability to distinguish colors; general manual dexterity required. Working with
machinery, around moving vehicles/objects; working on slippery or uneven surfaces; exposure to grease and oils,
fumes from fuel and exhaust, vibrations, noise; potential for physical fatigue.

The City of Fort Worth – Police Department is currently recruiting an Office Assistant I in the East Criminal Investigation Unit-
Front Desk Lobby. Duties include answering heavy telephone and public contact. Notify Detectives of arrival of appointments,
operating normal office equipment and general clerical duties. Other duties as assigned may vary.

Responsibilities include: Answering phone and directing calls to detectives or other departments, helping general public with
problems and complaints. Notifying detectives when a scheduled appointment arrives. Problem solving of complaints and
calling for officers to make reports when needed. Taking messages and sending them by using Microsoft Outlook. Helping
customers in person with complaints and problems. Making copies and for customers to be given to detectives. Sending faxes to
departments within the city for customers.

Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment including telephones, computer, copy machine, fax machine or other
equipment related to assigned duties. Knowledge and proficiency in Tiburon reporting system in looking up case assignments
upon request is preferred.

Knowledge of TriTech Software is recommended.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Outlook required. Spanish/English bilingual skills preferred.

Must be able to take and pass the Office Skills Test. Filing is 70. The test is administered Monday-Friday; 9:00 am -3:00
