You can c an start local in your neighborhood and build up f rom there. For For openers , just mow mow , trim, clean up, that sort of thing. If you don’t like it then you haven’t spent $$ on trailer etc.  As k your clients clients w hat do THE THEY w ant you to do, the then n do som somethi ething ng extra so they in turn w ill tell their friends. IItt w ililll cost you time but consider it advertisement. Everyone likes to think they are getting something for nothing or being treated special. special. One w ord of advise if you plan on putting putting a riding riding law n m mow ow er up in the back of your tr uck. Many Many a person have been killed trying to do just that so be VERY careful if you do something like that…… get a trailer!! If you star t local, most most likely you can use your dad’s s tuf tufff until he puts a stop to it. friends4tenyears February 16, 2012 at 1:26 pm Neighbors squeezing me out! Help!?

We live live in a very ver y nice neighborhood. I love w orking in my my law n. My My neighbor to my left f eels he doesn’t have the time to cut his law n and pays s omeone omeone to cut his gr grass ass.. Well, despite m me e pointing itit out, they keep cutting about 4 f eet into my law n. And they cut it very short w ith thei theirr c omm ommercial equi equipm pment. ent. Now,, my Now my neighbor to the right does not like like how the property line ended up after w e built our homes. Despite Despite having it surveyed and s takes takes installed installed,, she s till keeps keeps c uttin utting g tw o to three law nmow nmow er lengths into my my law n. In the rear I have a very distinct landscaping landsc aping that di divides vides the proper ty line. She still cuts on my side of it and mow mow s around it as if  they ow n it it.. Very odd. In the f ront, she cuts the law n very low and actually burned my law n up last summer. summer. I have had a couple of polite conversations w ith her and her husband about this this and asked them bo both th to stop. They said that their lawn law n “looks better and bigger if they c ut over that f ar”. I said that is true, but it is MY law n! I think she is now doing it on purpose because the last time I said something to her husband she yelled y elled out the w indow of her c ar the next morning as she drove aw ay stating th that at she w as w ell w ithi ithin n her property line. line. What do I do? I love ove w orking in my my law n and have the best looking law n on the street. I spend a lot of ttim ime e and m money oney keeping my gras s green, diseas e and bug free. I treat it my my ow n law n, test my soil a couple of times a year and keep it w atered. Th The e one set of neighbors neighbors are upset because they “pay” someone someone to take care of their their law n and m mine ine looks better. They have actually said that to me! What do I do? I don’t w ant to create cr eate problems since w e all have to live live here. But thes e people really don’t care about thei theirr law ns nor do they care about crossing the property line. Am I crazy? A m I bein being g petty? I llook ook forw ard to your an answ sw ers. We are in a neighborhood w ith a homeow homeow ners as soc sociation. iation. I have had to deal with w ith this mys myself. elf. Taking pride in your law n is an admirable admirable thing. Keeping your neighborhood neighbor hood looking good can never be a bad thing, but frustration and maybe even a little hatred for your neighbors is never  a good thing. You have tr ied talking talking to them but how did that go? All people are diff erent and compromise can be a great thing if used c orrectly. Try and figure out something something that w ill be asthetically asthetically pleasing pleasing as w ell as easy to maint aintain ain such as some type of barrier or a law n strip w hich divides divides the properties in some some w ay. Flow Flow ers, s hrubs or somethin ng g to bring back the joy you have in takin taking g care of your y ard yet adds beauty and harmony harmony w ith your  neighbors. Talking Talking to your neighbors s hould alw always ays be the f irst step, s tep, w ithout communication, little can be gained. good luck. Reply
