Competency And Leadership Development: COMPETENCY
MODELLING

Competency models serve as a basis for HR strategic processes such as performance
management, workforce planning, personal and leadership development. Deloitte has
gained significant experience in designing and reviewing competency models for its clients.
We work as well with Deloitte proprietary model as with the research based Lominger®
competency model and methodology.
The Lominger® library has been developed by highly recognised researchers and is widely
used across the world. The model is made of 67 competencies, highly correlated with
success at work and easily customisable to fit any organisation’s culture or operating style. It
is deployable in a range of applications including competency modelling, job profiling and
training, recruitment and design of performance management and development plans.

Leadership development programs
It is crucial to ensure that leaders have the right capabilities, vision and proven track to
achieve the organisation goals. Research has shown that leadership is much more than past
performance. It is a lot about the present, the future and the environment, as well as the
ability of 'getting things done through other people'.

Using research and best practices, our leadership consultants have developed the concept of
Dialogical Leader©. Our proven methodology is based on dialogues with leaders and their
teams supported, when required, by complementary assessment tools (e.g. 360 evaluation
and psychometric testing). Our approach enables your leaders to explore their leadership
roles, context, culture and of course their personality with a view to significantly improve
the way they act with and influence others.

The Dialogical Leader©

The only leadership model should be your own … but use a proven methodology to jump
start and set it going.
