Las Vegas is a well known city in the United States for its gambling, shopping, fine dining, and entertainment, known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” Almost all attractions are found on a four mile strip called the Las Vegas Boulevard; over 140,000 hotel rooms were accounted for in 2009. According to the Census Bureau, its population in 2008 was 558,383 people. The city was established in 1905, but officially became a city in 1911. Location: Las Vegas is located in Clark County, Nevada, almost directly in the center of Nevada.
