Comprehension Strategy - Making Predictions

#

We are learning that to understand a text we can make predictions before we read to predict what the text will be about, who will be in the text and what we might learn from the text
Think carefully about what we are reading and whether it makes sense Think carefully about what we are reading to see if what we thought would happen does happen Test our predictions as we read Revise our predictions as we read

I predict...

Was I correct?

Why? Because...

From the front cover, I predict that the main character (Percy Jackson) has magical powers Look at the which no other human holds. It illustration(s) on the also says that Percy is “half boy, half God, all hero” which I think front cover means he is a normal boy with special abilities (half-blood) but is a hero at heart

Because during the first 3 q chapters, he has had unique powers and he is a hero as So far, my prediction has been correct and I in Chapter 1, Mrs Dodds did find out that he is a turns into a crazy creature hero but a normal boy in which Percy vaporizes, but no one ever knew about Mrs as well Dodds…

Look at the blurb

I predict that he is the son of a Greek God which means that he has gained some of his father’s powers. He was normal, until stuff got really bad. It says that Zeus (God of the Sky) suspects Percy stole his lightning bolt and I think Percy is on an adventure to find the bold before a war erupts From the first chapter, I predict that Percy is always in a knack of getting in trouble! I predict that everyone at Yancy Academy has a disability, Grover (Percy’s “friend”) walks funny, Mr Brunner is in a wheel chair… I think that Nancy Bobofit and Percy might have to team up to find Zeus’ lightning bolt, maybe Grover has something to do with it!?!?

q
Yes, the predictions from the blurb were correct but I did find something that hasn’t been written in the story just yet…

It said in the chapter that Percy was a half-blood and that he has special powers. But it hasn’t said anything about Zeus and his missing lightning bolt, but it does say (on the blurb) that Zeus thinks Percy stole his lightning bolt and Zeus gets angry

Look at the first chapter

Nothing that I have I’m not quite sure if predicted has shown up so I’ll everyone has a disability have to keep reading to see and I don’t know if Percy if I was right. I’m still very and Nancy have to suspicious of Grover as I become “friends” to help don’t know if he is a good save the world. I think I’m guy or a bad guy, we’ll have wrong saying that Grover to see… is part of an evil plan
