I. Computers are all around us and can be considered a wonder of the world. Thanks to the computers, we drive computerized cars, receive letters sent by co mputers, astronauts can go to the space and return safely. The computer has sign ificantly changed our world through advances in science and medicine, business a nd education. In fact the computer is a wonderful electronic brain that we have come to rely on. II. Today in this modern world, computers have made a mark able position in almost everyone s life. From students to business men, everyone owns a computer. W ithout a computer, life seems quite impossible. It is the most versatile machine ever been made. Computers have contributed to the advances in science and medic ine. In the sixties the U. S landed men on the moon because of computers. III. From advances in science and technology we now use computers in business . Computers are used in business to type letters and send messages. Every office should have world processors now. Secretaries can type faster and check spellin g and grammar to avoid mistakes. More over they can send letters by fax machine, which is just like a telephone and a copier. People can also make bank transact ions in just seconds by using computers. For example, they can deposit and retri eve money from their accounts through an ATM machine. Offices and banks can't op erate as effectively without a variety of computers. IV. Like business, education has improved because of computers. Today even p re-schools and elementary schools use computers to help children to learn gramma r and math. On the word processor students can do their homework and check their grammar and spelling. In the library, students search for any written material on computers and complete projects. Teachers use computers programs to grade pap ers and calculate students GPA faster. Both students and teachers have to rely o n computers to enhance learning in ways not possible years ago.
