Students:
S.CA. has been the leader in music, dance and stagecraft for over 30 years! We are seeking college
students and young adults for the position of camp counselors for the 2012 Showchoir Camps of
America. The camps will be held June 16 - 23 at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and July 7 - 14
at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio. These positions are for one week at one or more locations.
Students and directors from more than thirty-five states will participate in an intense week of vocal and
dance training in the field of show choir. It is one of the largest and most professional camps of its
kind. Our teaching staff consists of professional composers, vocal conductors, entertainers, and
choreographers from across the country. The counselors will be responsible for junior and senior high
school age students involving all activities from assisting in musical rehearsals to chaperoning evening
activities as well as dorm supervision.
ILLINOIS AND OHIO
~40 Counselor positions available
~Must be at least 19 years old (or at least one year of college)
~Campus housing provided for 7 nights
~Meals included from Sat. dinner – Sat. lunch
~Counselor T-Shirt
~Additional materials
~Valuable experience
You will have an opportunity to meet the clinicians, attend rehearsals, and participate in workshops.
However, your primary responsibility is as a counselor; to supervise the campers and be available to
the head counselors for daily assignments. Being a counselor carries a lot of responsibility, but its lots
of fun and the rewards are great! Enclosed please find a counselor application, which we are accepting

I was a camp counselor at Totus Tuus Bible Camp in Mitchell, SD from 2006 - 2010. I helped out with teaching the kids
music, in the classroom, and playing with them at recess. I also direct a children's theatre every summer (2009 - 2012) so
I'm very experienced and love working with kids and the arts.
Why would you like to be a counselor? (attach additional page if needed)
I absolutely love show choir. SCA was always my favorite part of the summer. Going back and helping out/teaching kids
about performing is something I would love to do.
List any extracurricular activities in which you participated while in high school and/or college:
High School: Mitchell "Friend de Coup" Show Choir (2008 - 2011), Fall Musical / One Act Play / Spring Play (2008 - 2011)
College: I was cast in three USD Theatre productions (Avenue Q, Top Girls, Sweeney Todd), and I assist the Vermillion
High School Show Choir "Rhythm in Red". I also helped choreograph for their women's group,"Maganda Boses".
