In October Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced the formation of the NYS Tax Relief Commission, which was charged with devising a series of tax relief proposals that would ease the burden on individuals, families and businesses of New York’s most onerous taxes, with an emphasis on property taxes. The report was delivered to the Governor today.

County Executive’s Statement on New York State Tax Relief Commission Report
“I welcome today’s report from the commission and the key findings that property taxpayers need relief if we are to grow the state’s economy,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “We all know that property taxes are too high and that’s why I proposed a budget under the tax cap. I am also pleased that the report offers a discussion of shared services and consolidation. This is something I have supported since I took office. We must find more ways to eliminate duplication and find ways to operate more efficiently. This report will help to further the conversation.”
