WHAT IS META DATA?
META DATA is defined as data about data that means METADATA is data. METADATA can be stored and managed in a database called as REPOSITORY.
DATABASE MANAGEMENT
Each RELATIONAL DATABASE SYSTEM has its own mechanisms for storing meta data. Example of relational database metadata include: Tables of all tables in a database, their names, sizes and no of rows in each table. 2. Tables of columns in each database, what tables they are used in and type of data stored in each column

WHAT IS DATA CENTER ?
A data center is a facility used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. It generally includes : redundant or backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning fire suppression) and security devices.
PHYSICAL LAYOUT

HISTORY OF DATA CENTER
PURPOSE OF DATA CENTER
The main purpose of a data center is running the applications that handle the core business and operational data of the organization. Common components of such applications are: databases file servers application servers middleware and various others.

INTRODUCTION TO AADC
The Australian Antarctica Data Center was established in 1995 as a repository for scientific data resulting from the Australian Antarctic Science Program. All data within the AADC is discoverable and described through the META DATA SYSTEM.
HOW DATA IS SUBMITTED TO THE DATA CENTER?
Data can be submitted online using a standard proforma that can be downloaded from this site.

DESCRIPTION
Data submitted to the sea ice database needs to be in correct format. In order for the submitted data to be ingested into the database in an automated fashion, the data needs to be input into a sea ice data template.
DESCRIPTION
The template is in EXCEL format. User that do not own a copy of MS OFFICE can use OpenOffice as an alternative to open and edit the template.

How the heat generated in the DATA CENTER can be cooled?
The majority of DATA CENTER are cooled to approximately 72 degree Fahrenheit. But both data centre provider and manufacturers such HP,IBM and SUN MICROS SYSTEMS state that server equipment will function perfectly at 80 degrees
CURRENT TECHNOLOGY
We are forced to use AC units and massive cooling centres to keep all the servers at around 70 degrees. Hot air is pumped out of the DATA CENTER and excess heat is used to power office buildings and heat up pools in surrounding areas. ³THIS IS A GOOD STEP AND RECYCLING IS ALWAYS IDEAL´
DATA CENTER USED TO HEAT SWIMMING POOL
A Data Centre in ZURICH is doing just that , when heat from a data centre built in a bunker is collected and transferred to the nearby pool as part of an innovative energy efficiency project undertaken by GIBGIBservices,a swiss IT co-location company. co-
