Compliance with DPS security, safety and driving policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

POSITION OBJECTIVE – Describe general objectives.

Include the purpose of the position, expected outcomes and results, and overview of areas of accountability.

To provide production assistance to the staff of DPStv.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – Describe each of the basic functions and responsibilities of the job.















Assist on shoots as needed in the studio and field.
Serve as crew on studio and field shoots as needed. May include: Camera work (robotic and handheld), Sound,
Floor Director, Technical Director, Lighting, Grip, and general Production Assistant duties.
Video Editing
Maintain equipment storage in the studio in an orderly fashion
Assist with set up of Distance Learning (DL) video equipment for classes and in DL studio
Wind cables, clean up studio after shoots, help with craft services for shoots (water/snacks, coffee).
Uphold the rules of the department, including notifying staff in a timely manner of any absence.
Perform research related to programs and shoots
May be asked to monitor the check out and return of student equipment, recharging batteries, notating damage
and flagging equipment for repair.
May be asked to maintain field production equipment room in an orderly fashion.
Other duties assigned by staff.
Arrive to work on time and stay the full shift.
Must be able to pass a background check

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Describe the minimum education and experience required for the job.

experience that satisfies the requirements of the job may be considered.

Must be eligible for internship through Metro State University
LICENSURE & CERTIFICATION – Include licensure and certification requirements, if applicable.
None required.

KNOWLEDGE & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS – Describe specific knowledge and qualifications required for the job.






Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, a plus.
Classes-SPE 4440
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Physical Demands:

Travel will be required so reliable transportation is essential.

The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen) for
extended periods of time.

Speech/Hearing: Frequently interact with coworkers, students and public.
Mental Functions:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate data and must rely on
interpersonal skills when working with employees, students and/or the public. Frequently required to communicate, coordinate, instruct,
compute, compile and negotiate.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in climate controlled indoor school/TV studio setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate,
depending upon office location and activity. Sometimes heat in the studio can be uncomfortable.
