Disadvantages of Solar Energy: 1. Initial set-up cost is very high. 2. 98% of the energy that falls on the panel is wasted. Only 2% is absorbed. 3. Silver, the photovoltaic is used in solar panel which is rare and expensive. 4. Requires arge space to set-up. 5. Seasonal in nature. 6. Pollution affects the solar panels. 7. Energy tapping is impossible during night. 8. Must be exposed to sunlight. A skyscraper nearby (now or in the future), if i t blocks direct sunlight to the panel, energy tapping would be least efficient. These are the major few. Using solar energy to generate electricity is one of the greatest achievements b y mankind, and is set for even greater things in the future.
