What Is Dual Credit?
Dual credit is a partnership between Navarro College and area high schools. Dual credit makes it possible for high school juniors and seniors to earn both high school and college course credit upon successful completion of the course(s).
Who Teaches The Courses?
· High school teachers with appropriate credentials · Full-time and adjunct Navarro College instructors
Why Should I Enroll In Dual Credit Courses?
Dual credit can help you graduate from college sooner because you simultaneously receive college and high school course credit. Also, by taking college-level courses while still in high school, you are one step ahead in preparing for the rigors of higher education. And in many cases, you will already be familiar with the college campus and teachers, and you will have started to plan for your future.

What Are Academic Dual Credit Courses?
Upon entering Navarro College, these courses are accepted as part of your collegelevel core curriculum. Academic dual credit courses can be applied toward the following two-year degrees: · Associate of Arts · Associate of Science · Associate of Arts in Teaching

Which Courses Are Offered?
Class offerings vary by high school, but typically the following are offered: · American History I & II · Anatomy & Physiology · British or World Literature · Composition and Rhetoric I & II · College Algebra & Trigonometry · Calculus I & II · Economics · General Biology I & II · Geology · Government · Physical Science · Speech · Statistics
· Accuplacer score must be 78 for reading, essay score of 6 or essay score of 5 with sentence skills of 80, with elementary algebra score of 85 or higher, and collegelevel math of 50 or higher. 3) A required state-approved placement test. Navarro College offers several placement tests. Call the Testing Center at (903) 875-7457 for information.
How Much Does It Cost?
Courses taken on a Navarro College campus:
In-District 3 credit hours $168 In-District 6 credit hours $315 Out-of-District 3 credit hours $264 Out-of-District 6 credit hours $507
Costs of textbooks varies.
Are There Testing Requirements?
Yes. In order to take academic dual credit courses you must fall in to one of the following categories: 1) Testing Temporary Waiver – 10th grade TAKS scores ELA 2200 w/3 subscore and Math 2200 2) Testing Exemptions – · 11th grade TAKS scores ELA 2200 w/3 subscore and Math 2200, or · SAT combined critical reading and math score of 1070 w/minimum of 500 in both sections, or
What Are Career And Technical Dual Credit Courses?
These courses help prepare you for a skillspecific career or technical program. They are also termed “workforce” courses. These courses can be applied to: · Certificate programs · Associate of Applied Science degree

· Accounting I & II · Agricultural Mechanics & Metal Technologies · Audio Video Production · Business Information Management I & II · Child Development · Child Guidance · Computer Maintenance · Court Systems & Practices · Database Fundamentals and Programming (Oracle) · Digital and Interactive Media · Instructional Practice in Education and Training · Law Enforcement I & II · Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance · Principles of Information Technology · Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security · Telecommunications and Networking · Touch System Data Entry · Welding

How Much Does It Costs?
