Since its establishment in 1985, IGNOU has contributed significantly to
the development of higher education in the country through the Open
and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The ‘People’s University’ follows a
learner-centric approach and has successfully adopted a policy of openness and flexibility in entry qualifications, time taken for completion
of a programme, and place of study. The University, at present, offers

NSDI india
National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), under the National Spatial
Data Committee (NSDC), was formulated for the purpose of acquiring,
processing, storing, distributing and improving utilisation of spatial data.
The NSDC is the apex national authority for formulating and implementing appropriate policies, strategies and programmes for the establishment, operation, management of the NSDI and utilisation and any other
activities related to spatial data in the country. As part of this, the NSDC
has a function to promote the development of human resources in the
spatial data sector by encouraging existing training institutes, universities, institutions offering specialized courses, etc to undertake human

The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) was established
by Act No.14 of 1994 passed by the Gujarat State Legislature, and
assented to by the Governor of Gujarat on 27th July, 1994. The BAOU
is the seventh Open University in the country in terms of establishment. The University offers 72 programmes with an enrolment of more
than 1,00,000 learners. The headquarters of the university is located
at Ahmedabad. The University has established Regional Centre on the
campus of South Gujarat University, Rajkot, and has initiated the process
of establishing another regional centre in the campus of North Gujarat
University, Patan. The University has more than 507 study centres. It is

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC), a major minerals and lignite mining company owned by Government of Gujarat, was
founded in 1963. Its product range includes essential energy minerals like
