BS7671; IEE Wiring Regulations - 17th Edition
Part P of the Building Regulation
These qualifications are of course, a minimum and to become a member of a "compe
tent persons" certification scheme, you would ideally hold a level 3 qualificati
on in electrical installation, have around £2Million of liability insurance, be ca
pable of carrying out Inspection and Testing and also have your work inspected b
y the scheme administrators on a regular basis.
Requirements for Electrical Installations (2382)
To summarise, we would say take the 2365 course if you re generally new to electri
cs, it s essentially delivered in more easily manageable steps to achieve the same
result. We would say take the 2357 if you re employed by an electrical contractor
who can support you through an NVQ, if not then take the 2365.
You can study all the bits individually, such as the 2330 and the NVQ Level 3 (a
nd the AM2) to get JIB registration, which is what you should really be aiming f
or.
