Decision To Acquire Erp For Jubilee General
Decision has been made at group level by the board of director. At Jubilee Insurance Kenya, PREMIA is already implemented and successfully running. In Pakistan, Jubilee Life decided to acquire Pentasoft, implementation of Pentasoft is in process. Jubilee General is decided to

acquire iGIS from local market. Support from the higher management, made easy for ICT departments of respective companies to proceed further.

Planning Before Selection Erp
Before selection of Insurance ERP, Jubilee General conducted a detail survey and compare different available options both local and international applications. Cost benefit analysis performed between PREMIA (Indian origin), Pentasoft (Malaysian origin) and iGIS (Pakistan origin). PREMIA is already implemented in Adamjee Insurance and they faced lot of problem from the vendor and still facing problems in different areas of business. Pentasoft is comparatively new in Pakistan market and cost of application is much higher than iGIS ERP.

Igis Intorduction
iGIS is local ERP, developed by Centegy Technologies (Formerly SidatHyderMorshed Associates). First version of iGIS, known as GIS was the joint venture of Jubilee General and SidatHyder. Most of the business processes are similar in iGIS as available in GIS. General Insurance System (GIS) is a complete solution for policy administration and management across all categories of general insurance including fire, motor, marine and miscellaneous equipment. GIS enables you to eliminate data redundancy, expedite processing, accelerate product development & deployment, analyze risk and supports real-time collaboration.GIS can be accessed through your company's intranet or over the internet and is designed for usability across both platforms.Over the time period Centegy Technologies added best practices of insurance industry in the iGIS. Currently iGIS is running in 15 insurance companies of Pakistan and Middle East. Finally decision made in the favor of iGIS.

To understand the key features of iGIS, demos and trainings conducted at different level. For Higher management, MIS and Dashboard provided by iGIS demonstrated. For Operations department functionalities and controls supported by iGIS demonstrated.

Steering Committee To Manage The Project
Project steering committee have been formed, led by Managing Director, consists Heads of different departments including ICT head. It is seriously considered during the formation of steering committee that all stake holders should be included in the committee. Committee is very helpful in different occasion especially when disputes aroused between the stake holders and hard decision need to be taken.

Having The Right Resources From The Start
As per recommendation of vendor before commencing of project, availability of different types of resources has been properly planned. Meetings hold with different vendors for hardware, data connectivity and database requirements. Acquisitions of resources at different stages of project have planned properly. Additionally human resource from the different departments were also identified and notified to the concerned heads. However, some deadlines failed to achieve in-time due to the improper or nonrealistic plans. Some mile stones are depended on other and due to the delay in primary mile stone depended mile stones also affected.

During the whole cycle of project availability of human resource is a question mark. Although it is committed to make available resources in-time, in actual it was not happened. Most of the time ICT department completed task with their own limited resources. Compromise with agreed terms effect the quality of deliverable in some areas.

Train The Trainers
To build better functional team, Master Trainer concept has been adopted, through which key users and focal points from different branches of Jubilee, got functional training to get maximum benefits of iGIS. Master Trainers also used to address the issues by their self at branch level. It is planned that Master Trainers also reduce the direct burden on ICT department and ICT will address only complex and unresolvable issues of iGIS. However during UAT and parallel run, ICT department is facing lot of problems because most of the user including key users and focal points approaching ICT department directly for support. The reason behind the problem is that, beside the comprehensive trainings Master trainers were not well prepared to address the issues. To-date all issues is being addressed by the ICT department.

Migration Of Historical Data
Most hectic job for ICT department is data migration. As per project plan, data migration is the responsibility of ICT department. It is finalized to move last five year data in iGIS. Database structure is entirely different and mapping of data to the new system is very difficult. Although data is successfully migrated but ICT is still engaged in post issues of data migration.
