The article recognized the extreme efforts accomplis hed in the field on automated systems maintenance. This article focused on the e ffects achieved in our local Tidewater Virginia Navy Region. * Navy Public Works Center I served on the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organization s (JCAHO) inspection audit team at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in regards to t he Preventative Maintenance of equipment and Emergency Generators. This resulted in the successful passing of this phase of the Joint Commission on the Accredit ation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) inspection. * Let Us Produce I negotiated all contracts for the accomplishment of facilities maintenance, inc luding, but not limited to, two warehouses, approx. 125,000 square feet, refrige rated reefer spaces, office spaces, and all related equipment. * Let Us Produce I negotiated all contracts for the accomplishment of vehicle purchase and mainte nance, including, but not limited to, 50 medium to large trucks and trailers, fo rklifts, management vehicles, and all related equipment. * Norfolk State University I served as the Universitys Energy Conservation Officer. I worked closely with t he Universitys management and staff to initiate the formulation of energy cuttin g and savings measures. I monitored the progress of these energy cutting and sav ings measures throughout the year. I did monthly, quarterly, and yearly audits t o insure that these measures were working. * Norfolk State University I served on the Performance Contracting Evaluation And Selection Team. This invo lved the evaluating and selecting of an energy performance contractor. The contr actor performed $ 30,000,000 of new energy savings projects. The majority of thi s work was in the HVAC area. This project involved the replacement of Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, piping, and other components, the utility savings of th is project offset the cost of this new equipment over the 15 year contract repay ment period. I served as contract administrator of this contract. * Norfolk State University I served as budget officer for budget development in my area. I worked closely w ith the Universitys budget in the formulation of Physical Plant annual budget. I monitored the budget and make necessary adjustments throughout the year. * Portsmouth Public Schools I served as the School Systems Energy Conservation Officer. I worked closely wit

h the School Systems management and staff to initiate the formulation of energy cutting and savings measures. I monitored the progress of these energy cutting a nd savings measures throughout the year. I did monthly, quarterly, and yearly au dits to insure that these measures were working. * Portsmouth Public Schools I developed and coordinated the district-wide FCI "Facilities Condition Index", their facilities inspection program, to identify facility repairs and improvemen t opportunities and develop courses of action to address findings. This FCI was used to develop budget requirements for short and long range facilities repairs and capital equipment replacements. * Portsmouth Public Schools I served as Portsmouth Public Schools primary liaison and contract administrator with Portsmouth Public Schools HVAC contractor, Ameresco, Inc. Since all HVAC s ervices and equipment projects are contracted to Ameresco, Inc. this liaison fun ction was critical to Portsmouth Public Schools critical mission. * Portsmouth Public Schools I served on the Performance Contracting Team.
