About the Artist:

With 2,000,000 gleaming lights, this magical threemile driving tour will certainly become a memorable tradition for your friends and family.

Since 1980, Robert Maniscalco’s exquisite commissioned portraits and fine art have become part of over 850 distinguished private and public collections throughout North America. “Preparing for Market” (featured on cover) is part of a series of paintings called, “Faces of the Lowcountry.” Born in Detroit in 1959, he is the son of internationally renowned portrait artist Joseph Maniscalco, with whom he apprenticed during the early 1980’s. He moved to New York City in 1986 where he continued his studies and professional activities. In NYC he also worked as an actor and director on numerous stage, film and TV projects. He returned to Detroit in 1997 after a three year residency in New Orleans. In Detroit he founded the Maniscalco Gallery, which showcased many local and international artists and hosted a PBS series called, “Art Beat, “ which featured interviews with celebrated artists while they demonstrated their process. He settled in the Charleston area in 2005 and maintains a studio in West Ashley where he paints and teaches classes called, “The Power of Positive Painting.” For more information regarding Maniscalco’s work, please visit www.maniscalcogallery.com or call (843) 486-3161.
