Fashion!

Alan Flores Xochitiotzi English 7° Semester IES Dante Alighieri Fashion! What¶s fashion? Who decides what¶s in and what¶s out? How do they come up with that decision? I certainly do not know very much about that multimillionaire business which has settled down in this globalized world, I do like clothes, and fashion articles as much as everyone else, who like me think of it as an excellent way to express oneself to others, to let everybody knowshow we feel, how, we think and how we really are. I know a lot of people who don´t get worried or even think about how they dress at all, because, I think, they want to assert they have got bigger issues going on in their lives, or in just some cases they consider themselves too smart to lose time thinking what to wear or worse what not to wear. Fashion along the years has become one of the biggest and most important business around the world but I consider it is really of major importance go beyond the runways, the high fashion magazines, the models, the status and the new styles in order to get involved with all those components that made it what it is nowadays. Fist able, I have to acknowledge all those artists that create such as amazing pieces, because I even admit some of them are just beautiful, and transmit an incredible energy; those designers who are able to express themselves through clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup, bags, sunglasses are just trying to share with all of us some of the emotions that run through their veins, those emotions that will be captured by them in beautiful gowns; gowns that will be expose to us in order to buy them, I respect all of them because they followed their dreams and made them came true, that is the kind of fashion we should get all the time; the passion and brave of those who are not afraid of showing us what they feel and how they want to transmit those feelings to us. I think fashion has lost its real significance; it has transformed itself into a just one massive business which is just seeking for more money and more followers instead of seeking for new movements in pro of human race; because seeing the years go by in résumé it is all about one tendency which will be stood in for a new one, and the most shocking true is that it is a business that is growing very fast. I know we are not forced to follow those tendencies, because we all change; I can deeply assure nobody dresses in the same way people did forty years ago, change is good, but we should focus more on our inside improvement and betterment instead of just try to look great in the outside; clothes are necessary but it does not mean the entire world, there more things out there. I reckon people has started to think fashion itself, and the way they dress up, have become a very significant part of their routine, mostly women who are absorbed by all those colorful and pretentious pages in renown magazines such as Vogue, Elle or Cosmopolitan; they continue to sell us things that we do not need or want; and I know they have not been complete and utterly guilty for all of that, it is also all those shallow and superficial people¶s fault too; and I want to make this clear; I truly

and deeply respect all those different points of view, but I still don¶t think fashion should be so important for a few of them. I want all the people all over the world to acknowledge the bad things fashion continues to make; they take the symbolism of real natural beauty beyond human race, they emulate beauty through computers and software that instead of bringing realistic beauty out, they just iconize it in something no one will never be able to reach; and as result there are millions of girls and boys who commence to think that being beautiful in the most important aspect of their lives, or commence to think they have got to be as handsome as all those models to be happy; and that is very strange because everybody knows all the troubles fashion has been in for trying to point out the physical handicaps in each person, with no regrets or fear of hurting people along the way. Another thing I do not like about fashion is that despite of all the organizations that fight for animal¶s rights they keep using natural four for their shoots; that is so ruthless and heartless for those creatures that have got just some people to speak on behalf of them. Fashion world has got to stop incite murders and hunters to kill defenseless animals just because they have a gorgeous fur. But above all of this Fashion is still a magnet of young girlswho are desperate for a role to follow; adolescence is hard enough to have someone or worse, something always telling you how to be, how to talk and unfortunately how to dress; Fashion should be as I said a tendency for everyone, and also it should work in pro people not the other way around; fashion stigmatize beauty into a slender, tall, perfect and young symbol; when we are actually the opposite, but who is really responsible for those stigmas; Who is really guilty for all of this? Who? Unluckily, all of us; we are responsible for letting them to get us, for modifying our sense common, for allowing them to interfere in our lives. In conclusion I do believe it is time for us to get rid of all those ridiculous thoughts about fashion, it is time to make our own concept of it, I am not saying we have to be or dress up the same from now and on, but we have got to make clear our priorities, what is really important for us and either we are comfortable with all the things the world of fashion tries to sell us or not, we all know this is a business that will increase its profit but at the end of the day we will have the last word, just because it is a business that is completely dedicated to us, the consumers.
