Electronic Newsletter for Wyoming’s OUT-OF-OPTIONS Furkids
February 10, 2014

e-WOOF is a bi-monthly

e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

Park County Animal Shelter -- Cody, WY Contact: 307-587-5110 or [email protected] MIA is a 5-year-old female Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. She came to us because her owners were moving and could not take her with them. She was raised around children and she would be a wonderful family dog. She would do best in a home as the only pet. She is a very affectionate and sweet girl who loves everyone!
thinks he is a lap dog. He loves to go for walks and he loves to cuddle. He would be best in a home without cats or other dogs.

e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

SCOOBY is an 8 year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. Scooby has been with us for 3 years now, and is still looking for his forever home. He can be a little intimidating while he is in his cage, but once he is out of the cage he is a different dog. He takes a little bit to get used to new people, but if you take him for a walk and give him a treat he will be your best friend. He needs to be in a home without small children or cats, but does get along well with most other dogs. He also needs to be in a home where his owner will be an Alpha personality.

Black Dog Animal Rescue - Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or [email protected] JAX is pure puppy! He is a sweet and friendly boy, who really wants
SCOOBY attention and love from his person. He tries to get as close as possible to you to receive as much love as you can give, sometimes stuffing the toy he has in his mouth in your face to share with you. Jax is definitely a work in progress. He is learning to not jump up on or mouth people. Jax would be a great addition to an active family who will take him on hikes, camping, running, to the dog park, or just about anywhere else you go! He is very food motivated and eager to do anything to make his people happy, and a quick learner. Jax is also housebroken. However, with his rambunctious jumping and mouthing, he should be adopted by a home without young children who could be easily knocked over by accident by this enthusiastic boy. Jax will make a great companion for someone with a little time to spend teaching him how to be a perfect dog-- and he really does want to learn how to be a perfect dog!

TIME LIMITED: Must be moved soon. Time can be extended if a place is found and transport is being arranged. SPECIAL NEEDS/ SENIOR: Must be moved soon. Time can be extended if a place is found and transport is being arranged. OTHER: In critical need of help but does not fit in another category (i.e., hit by car, needs donations for emergency surgery). UPDATE: Good news.

Black Dog Animal Rescue - Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or [email protected] TANNER is a happy little dog who really likes to be with people and his foster brothers. He is almost potty trained now and loves to play outside. He had a hard life before he came to Black Dog and now has really come out of his shell and has embraced his new home. Despite not having the best start to life he does great with other animals and loves to ride in the car! He will need someone with patience to remind him not to be mouthy, and because of this we would recommend that he doesn’t go to a home with smaller children. We believe that he is used to protecting himself from his old life. He is learning to walk on a leash with great success and is just loving life. CARMEN is a typical pit bull terrier type dog. She loves to kiss faces
and roll around to get her belly rubbed. She has a huge smile and an even bigger heart! Carmen is house trained, crate trained and gets along good with other dogs. She is learning boundaries with other dogs and when they want to stop playing. She always listens and is very respectful. Carmen loves treats and is very food motivated. She sits and waits like a champ! She continues to work on other skills. Don’t let her serious picture fool you, Carmen is a goofball. She will, no doubt, wiggle her cute butt right into your heart. Carmen is a true ambassador for the breed and is waiting to fill that empty spot in your home. Don’t wait! Apply today! ____________

Contact: Jody at [email protected] Meet JOEY! He is a 2 to 3-year-old neutered male heeler mix. He has not been in a house full-time as he is being fostered at a kennel but when he goes to the “house” to visit he is apparently house trained. He has come a long way since he was rescued on the Reservation last spring and he has waited a long time for his own home. He is good with other dogs and likes the people he meets at his foster home. He is pretty active and would be best in a home where he had activities which would give him physical and mental exercise.

SNOW is 11 years young! She is a spayed female border collie. She is
house trained and loves walks, playing with squeaky tennis balls and her all time favorite game - chasing water out of the house. Healthy and still active, Snow would love to live with someone who would play ball and take her for walks. ____________
