Tree Planting Ceremony at Whakanuia 2011
Saturday 06 February. This year European migrants are invited by the people of TuhourangiNgati Wahiao of Whakarewarewa to a tree-planting ceremony where a migrant represents his birth country through planting young Manuka tree along the village’s nature walk. If you are from any of the following countries- Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Greenland, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Britain, Poland or Belgium, and would like to take part in the ceremony, call Alexis (027)4494417 email [email protected] All migrants and newcomers (Kiwi and Maori) are welcome to celebrate Waitangi Day at Whakarewarewa-The Living Thermal Village (17 Tryon St) There will be workshops, cultural performances and guided tours. U&I Football Cup 2011 Registration
Registration for U&I Football Cup 2011 (formerly known as U&I Soccerfest) is now open for teams of seven- ideally representing a cultural group or composed of mixed cultural background- aged 14 above. The winning team will qualify for the New Zealand Community Football Cup in November. Registration closes Saturday 19 February. Multicultural Rotorua) to celebrate Race Relations Day and promote the values of cultural diversity. The theme for Race Relations Day 2011 is 'People in Harmony'. Services include: Quit smoking treatment & support, immunizations, lies and scabies treatment, throat or ear infections, minor wounds and injuries, dressings, blood pressure, weighing, blood sugar check, asthma check, diabetes check, STI test, pregnancy test, contraception and advice, cervical smears, mammogram referrals, health checks, health care advice, health education and promotion, referrals to other Community Services and confidential chat.
