Roots Corporation Limited (RCL) is a subsidiary of The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). Incorporated on December 24, 2003, RCL operates the first-of-its-kind category of Smart Basics™ hotel chain across the country. Operations


Functions like housekeeping,restaurants,laundry,and maintenance are outsourced. This leads to a high outsourcing equation of 90:10 which further enhances the priceperformance ratio since the same for luxury hotels is 30:70 As a result, the room to manpower ratio at Ginger is 1:0.36 compared to 1:3 in business hotels. Besides, the company sought customer responses from the initial three variants set up in Bangalore, Haridwar and Bhubaneshwar. Vending machines, check-in kiosks, ATMs, wi-fi connectivity, etc helped lower service costs while offering good value to customers
