A– Description of the class

Pre-Intermediate Students between the ages of 15-16, all boys; The class takes place once a week, on Tuesday. Most of the times the students are not enthusiastic. Only 1/3 of the students are on intermediate level, the rest are beginners.

Revising the parts of the body; Listening and speaking about health problems;

1. raising SS’ interest on the topic of the topic of “Health is Better than Wealth”; 2. re-activating the knowledge previously acquired about health; 3. introducing and practising the new vocabulary; 4. giving advice using should or shouldn’t; 5. developing speaking skills

Objective 1: (Estimated time: 10 minutes) (a) Context: (b) Activity / class organization: Health is better than wealth T asks SS to compare and contrast the two sets of pictures. Then, teacher asks SS to read the prompts aloud and explains the meaning of any unknown words. Next, she asks individual SS to describe their lifestyles and any changes they would like to make using the prompts. textbook All connected to the topic Some Ss might be shy expressing themselves 1

SS listen and match the sentences to the speakers. T checks SS’s answers. Tape and textbook All connected to the topic The tape recording might be too fast. T. can pause after each speaker to give time to Ss to match the sentences to the speakers
