Heavy and super heavy water
Heavy water
Heavy water is deuterium oxide (D2O) in which hydrogen atoms water molecule are replaced by its heavy isotope

As deuterium has twice the mass of an ordinary hydrogen, D2O is called heavy water. It is 11% heavier than ordinary water

Use of heavy water : 1) Heavy water is used in nuclear reactors as moderator for neutrons. 2) As tracer compound in the study of reaction mechanism and kinetic of reaction. 3) In the preparation of other deuterium compounds.

Super heavy water

 H of water molecules are replaced by its heavy isotope tritium  T or H .
Super heavy water is T2O in which hydrogen atoms

Tritium is about three times as heavy as ordinary hydrogen, hence T2O is called super heavy water To know more keep on visiting www.ednexa.com
