Historical Brief
• This Mosque is a Typical Structure of the early
sixtieth century(1430-1440 AD) This mosque
represents a significant development of mosque
architecture in Ahmedabad.
• Established by: Sultan Mehmud Beghara
• It is also remarkable for the rich and varied
sculpture of its minar, buttresses, balconied and
Latticed Windows.
• This Monument has been declared to be of
national importance under the ancient
monuments and archeological” sites and remains
act 1958 ( 24 of 1958).
• The roof of Central Part so raised as to admit Light
and air into the inventor of the three
• Arched entrances in the façade , the central one is
flanked by the minarets one on each side, The
• small entrances have Projected balcony windows
• On each side and a latticed window near the ends
of the facade.
