HI-TECH PHONES (VOIP
MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS)

-1-

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Voice over Internet Protocol, or VOIP, is helping to pave the way to
cheaper

telephone

calls

and

changing

the

entire

telecommunications landscape.
At the receiving end, VOIP computers reassemble the data packets
back into a conventional audio signal that can be heard as they are
on a regular telephone line.
Many VOIP service providers are able to offer unlimited flat-rate
Internet telephone calling

plans typically $30 to $50 per month.

PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEM:

In the existing system the telephone we want to connection
the process will go in manual. In the process the person who
wants the connection will go to the telephone office and fill
the information. And if any repairs are come that will also to
go to the office and complaint will give.

In the existing system no security that means blank calls cost
also maintain. And the VOIP connection is not available to the
existing that has wants the instrument. And the billing
system is monthly system. Some times the information not
goes to the other side that means the packages are missing.

In the existing system has takes the lot of time to connect
the number. In the existing system customer wants the
Account details it is very difficult, because it is the manual
process.

PROJECT INITIATION
As this is a web-based application, the software-engineering
methodology I followed was ‘Web Engineering’. According to the
web engineering methodology the very first stage in the process is
initiating a web application. This stage involves two main tasks viz.
 Formulating the Web-based system.
 Requirements gathering.

FORMULATION OF THE SYSTEM
Formulation
represents

a

of

web-based

sequence

of

web

systems

and

engineering

applications
actions

like

identification of business needs, description of objectives, definition
of major features and functions etc.,

Formulation Questions
Q.

What is the main motivation (business need) for the

application?
For the present web-application, the business needs are
identified as follows.
The organization is facing many troubles in maintaining the
up-to-date statuses of projects they handle. They wanted an
application which can automate or computerize the information
and store them securely.
Q.

What are the objectives that the application must

fulfill?
The goals for the present web-application are identified as
follows.
-4-

1. Informational Goals:

To search the information of customer.

To add new account and to delete existing account.

To maintain the profiles of the customer.

To send mail to the customer about the account renewals.

To provide new password if the customer forget the login
password

To generate the weekly reports, monthly reports & year wise
reports

2. Applicative Goals:

To Develop a API and make a shared database application
from VOIP service provider
And reseller.

Q. what are the different user categories who use this
system?
There are two main categories of users who use this system.
They are identified as follows.
ADMINISTRATOR:
Admin are responsible for all costs and charges, including without
limitation, phone charges and telecommunications equipment that
you incur in order to use the services.
USER:

-5-

User Modules Handles complete accounts of calls and statements
and updates and alerts on renewals and new package offers.

REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS
Requirement analysis for web applications encompasses
three

major

tasks:

formulation,

requirements

gathering

and

analysis modeling. During formulation, the basic motivation and
goals for the web application are identified, and the categories of
users are defined. In the requirements gathering phase, the
content and functional requirements are listed and interaction
scenarios written from end-user’s point-of-view are developed. This
intent is to establish a basic understanding of why the web
application is built, who will use it, and what problems it will solve
for its users.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
The collection of internal electronic circuits and external
physical devices used in building a computer is called the
Hardware.
The minimum hardware requirement specifications for
developing this project are as follows:

Processor

:

Standard processor with a speed of 833

MHz or more

RAM

:

256 MB RAM or more

Hard Disk

:

20 GB or more

-7-

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
A set of programs associated with the operation of a
computer is called software. Software is the part of the computer
system, which enables the user to interact with several physical
hardware devices.
The

minimum

software

requirement

specifications

for

developing this project are as follows:

Operating System

:

MS - Windows

:

Ms Visual

2003/XP/NT

Development Environment
Studio.Net 2005

(ASP.NET & C#.NET)

Database System

:

MS SQL Server

2000

Web Server

:

-8-

MS – IIS 5.0

HTML Designer

:

Dream

weaver.

Documentation Tool

:
