Hofstra Uni versity At a Glance

Hofstra University, located in New York City, is Long Island's largest private
university, with over 11,000 students registered as of fall 2011. It boasts a
dedicated full-time faculty of 525, with nearly 600 part-time faculty and over
1200 staff members filling out the roster of educators and support staff. The
university offers 140 undergraduate programs in everything from
Accounting, Taxation and Legal Studies in Business to Writing Studies and
Composition, as well as 150 graduate programs.

Founded in 1935, the university continues to receive praise for the high
quality of the education it offers. Publications including Princeton Review,
US News and World Report, and Forbes regularly include Hofstra on their
lists of the best colleges. Four of the university's graduate schools,
including the School of Education and the Frank G. Zarb School of
Business, are ranked among the best graduate schools in the country by
US News and World Report, and its undergraduate business school is
likewise listed as one of the best. Moving forward into the 2010s, Hofstra
University continues to produce educated graduates who possess the
knowledge and skills required to succeed in the world at large.

About the author: Adam Greene, of Melville, NY, is a former student of
Hofstra University and a partner in Greene & Company, LLC, an
accounting firm that specializes in serving construction businesses in the
Melville, NY area. Mr. Greene earned a degree in Accounting from Hofstra
and served as captain of the school's rugby team.
