Host Guide
See our Organizing Instructions and Labels first. Use them to organize the materials for your party. It will make things much more manageable.

ALL ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE LL ABOUT THE HOCOLATE
We ask your guests, (in their character sheet), to bring a chocolate treat for each guest. You will need to let your guests know how many will be attending. We have left it up to them as to what they would like to create. A good idea is to buy nice cellophane wrap for guests to wrap their leftover treats in to take home. If you do not wish to do this, be sure to inform them. We have created a full chocolate spa treatment regimen here: http://www.dinnerandamurder.com/chocolate/index.htm You will find everything you need here to create spa treatments, pampering items, meals, desserts and much more. Indulge your guests in the ultimate chocolate experience! HINT: You could contact your local beauty school to see if they have anyone who would like to work your party doing manicures, pedicures and facials using the recipes we provide. We have provided a Chocolate Spa Recipe Booklet. You can use these recipes to provide chocolate spa treatments for your guest. You can also print copies of the Chocolate Spa Recipes and Chocolate Food Recipe booklets as a gift for your guests! You will find a link to this Booklet and another Chocolate Recipe Booklet on the Chocolate page. We have also included some Lady Godiva graphics that you can use to decorate and set the theme for your party.

GUEST LIIST WORKSHEET BOOKLET UEST ST ORKSHEET OOKLET
Use this booklet to assign characters to your guests. It will contain everything you need to do this.

CHARACTER BOOKLETS & INVIITATIIONS HARACTER OOKLETS NV TAT ONS
We include an Invitation, which you can send out before your party to get confirmed R.S.V.P.’s before assigning characters to your guests. Character Backgrounds are eight page booklets with each characters name on the front. A couple weeks before your party, send a Character Booklet to each guest that has confirmed. Do NOT read character booklets if you wish to play. These booklets have a Player’s Guide, Character Background, and Guest List. Be sure to let guests know they must not read any character that is not their own. Ask your guests to keep their booklets safe and bring them to the party. You can also email character booklets using our RSVP e-Invite system. I would HIGHLY suggest registering for this system if you have the Box Kit. This RSVP system is a lifesaver if a guest loses or forgets their booklet! If you have any unassigned characters, save them to give to other ‘victims’ who need a new character during the evening. If you have no character’s to assign, then they can become an Detective, in the event of their untimely demise.

COSTUME SUGGESTIION FOR THIIS PARTY OSTUME UGGEST ON FOR TH S ARTY
If your group is all girls, you can ask your guest to come in a Robes & Slippers ‘spa wear’. Your guests should get a kick out of it.

CONFIIDENTIIAL BOOKLETS ONF DENT AL OOKLETS
These are the booklets marked Confidential on the front, with the characters name. Give these to your guests AFTER the murder. Kinzie will not receive a Confidential Booklet.

Host Announcement
Welcome to a Lady Godiva’s Day Spa. We are honored to have you here. Before we get started, I just have a few announcements to make. Later in the evening, each guest will be given a Confidential Booklet that will contain your Secrets, Information you may know about other characters and some things you will need to do during the course of the evening. DO NOT look at another guest’s Character or Confidential booklets. You have been provided game money that you can use however you wish… bribery and extortion is encouraged. Your character booklet instructs you on how you can commit murder in this game if the need arises. Please use this option wisely. Only commit murder if you feel it is your only option and you think you can get away with it. In order to commit a murder, you MUST have a weapon’s card. I am the acting host, so if you commit a murder, you must come tell me you did so and where the ‘body’ can be found. At the end of the party, you will fill out a Whodunit Card. Your eagle eye may catch a clue that no one else sees. If you deduce who the killer is before the end of the evening, please keep this information to yourself so as not to ruin the evening for anyone else. You will also be voting on the Best Costume and the Best Performer. At the end of the evening, we award certificates as follows: Super Sleuth, for those guests that solve the murder. Wealthiest Player, for the guest with the most “money” at the end. Best Costume, for the most creative costume. Best Performer, for the person who plays their part the best. Now let’s get on with a fun evening of murder and mayhem!

Give these items to your guests as they arrive:
• Provide a small pad of paper and pen to each guest.

GAME MONEY AME ONEY
Each Guest will receive game money when they arrive. This allows them to bribe, blackmail and buy information! Your guests will be striving to become the wealthiest player of the evening. Provide a package or a sheet of money to each guest. If a guest is murdered and assigned a new character, then they will most likely need money too. Dead bodies tend to be picked clean

NAME TAGS AME AGS
You will need to give each Guest their Nametag label when they arrive. This allows your guests to identify other Characters. They stick to clothing without leaving a residue, they remove easily & no pins to pierce clothing and body parts!

Other Items
EVIIDENCE V DENCE
The Evidence and the Evidence Presentation are to be put in an Evidence Envelope and given to the Detective to present after dinner. If you are not serving food, then have the Detective present the Evidence about 20 minutes after the guest’s have received their Confidential Booklets. It is a good idea to have a table on which to display the Evidence.

GUEST ITEMS UEST TEMS
These items need to go to specific characters when you give them their Confidential Booklets. The page before each Guest Item has the name of the character the following page or pages need to go to. Insert the guest items into an envelope, with the corresponding character’s name on it. They do not get these until after the murder.

MIISCELLANEOUS ITEMS SCELLANEOUS TEMS
After the murder, provide Detective Bonnie Straight with one (1) cotton swab for each guest, some baggies or something to seal a swab sample into. She will also need a marker to label them. The cotton swabs must have swabs at both ends.

Step-by-Step Party Instructions
As Guests arrive, give them their Nametags, Game Money and any other items that may be listed in this Host Guide. After everyone arrives, read the Host Announcement (in this Host Guide). Make sure that the person who is to play Kinzie is very outgoing and will enjoy 'dying' in front of the guests. Her character has a list of things that need to be done before the murder takes place. 30-45 minutes into the evening she will fall over dead, after a dramatic death scene. Do not panic when this happens (See the Guest List Worksheet for instructions on assigning this guest a second character to play after her murder). The Detective will run to her body, feel for a pulse, pronounce her dead, and ask some people to remove her body from the room. After the murder, give Kinzie her second characters nametag & money. Hand the Guest’s their Confidential Information. At this time, dinner can be served. Buffet and/or finger foods are good, but a sit down meal will work also, as long as people can mingle afterwards. After dinner, hand the Detective the Evidence to present along with the Evidence Presentation. It is best to display this on a table. Next, hand each guest a Weapon Clues sheet. They have 10 minutes to figure out as many clues as they can. After 10 minutes has passed, tell them they now have 5 minutes to try to find the Weapon Cards. GO! After the scavenger hunt is over, have everyone draw for Action Cards. Guests will now mingle, scheme and question When things start winding down, hand each guest a Whodunit Card to fill out. You will feel when it is time to wrap things up. Once they have turned these in, hand the Detective the Solution and instruct her to read this aloud. The host will go through the Whodunit Cards, and using the Whodunit Worksheet, fill out Certificates accordingly. Give out Certificates.
At the end of the evening, you can ask everyone to reveal his or her secrets one at a time. People will be amazed at what was going on right under their noses!

They will fill it out with their details, vote for Best Costume, Actor and Wealthiest Player. They will also submit their guess for any murders that occurred. You will go through these, as the Detective presents the Solution, and use the Worksheet to determine winners, and then fill out the Certificates as needed.
