trees as tall as skyscrapers Birds as majestic as a simple wave goodbye. Over-looking a past relationship a single glance, I can’t help but realize it’s gone. why can’t I come to terms with it? there’s no compassion here. I’m told to move on. I’m told to break away.  It’s not easy. every time I take risk I look up to the sun, in remembrance of our alliance. I try not to weep. I’m so afraid. I’m dismayed. Over and over, I count to a thousand stars. In remembrance of you. In memory of your smile. I’m reaching out. Have I neglected you? I may seem far away. Like a bird spreading it wings, Making a one-stop journey From the shade, into the sunlight. Over and over, I’ve told you goodbye. I must take the chance, make a change. Darling, I’m so afraid.
