Central Timetabling Unit How to Read Your Timetable
Activity sessions on timetables will contain the following information: Session Code Week Numbers Tutor Location Session Code This begins with the code for the module to which the session is linked followed by a capitalised letter which denotes the session type: L S P W U Lecture Seminar Practical Workshop Studio Time

A further lower case letter indicates the deliver for this session will be subdivided over the course of the year due to the need for different tutors, locations, etc. A final number indicates your lecture or seminar group. For example ‘MKT1001Sa/02’ would be the session code for seminar group 2 of module MKT1001 and has been subdivided. Week Numbers Week numbers appear on a timetable being viewed either by term or for the whole year. Week numbers correspond to standard Diary Weeks. For example the numbers ‘40-50, 02’ means the session will run in weeks 40 to 50 inclusive and also week 02. A table for the Diary Weeks covered by the Academic Timetable can also be found on the Timetabling website. Tutor When viewing timetables by week if the tutor taking this session is known then their name will be displayed. Location The location is the room number for the session which will usually be prefixed by a letter or letters denoting the building where the room is located. For example C101 is room 101 in the Cottesbrooke building. A full list of location prefixes can be downloaded from the Timetabling website.
