We have more different directions these days than a hot air balloon caught in a Kansas cyclone. We are asking everyone to save coupons they receive and to ask family and neighbors to save them as well. Chris Wennerholm will send them to overseas bases where they will help military families stretch their budgets. The base exchanges will accept coupons that are up to three months old. It’s a freebie for us but valuable to the families. Please make it a habit to save coupons.. Please bring in toiletries and kitchen items for our second stint at lending a hand to help American Business Women Associated support their women’s shelter. Barbara Hecathorn is chairing this community project. For the September meeting, we will be collecting clothing for a SoroptimistSponsored battered women’s shelter. There is particular interest in clothing that would be useful to women who are job-hunting. Almost any closet is housing clothing and accessories items that will give a lift to people who surely deserve our help. Committee meetings are in progress for the production of a cookbook by our club. A form for recipes is included in this newsletter. The book will have greater community appeal if it includes recipes from your family, friends, and neighbors. Saturday, August 29 at 4 p.m. is the time for a Meet the Candidates event in Napa at the El Macero Country Club… Don’t Miss Our August Speaker—The Liberals want to: SHUT UP RUSH, HANNITY, AND ALL CONSERVATIVES ON TALK RADIO—Let’s find out how to stop them.

Senator Diane Feinstein 1-202-224-3841 1-415-393-0710

Email boxes for senator’s offices are often a lost cause because they are full. This sometimes also happens with voice mail but persistence pays.

E DUCATION R EPORT
Be afraid, be very, very afraid! For the first time I can remember, we must pay attention to every bit of news that comes out of Washington. Blink and the federal government has absorbed yet another of our freedoms! Did you ever think the government would be running our banks, a car company, the real estate industry (see banks above, it’s all related), and now your entire physical, mental, and emotional health (and in many cases, your death) if enough senators and congressmen don’t stand firm against the strong-arm tactics of Obama and Company? Don’t think it can’t happen. The only thing standing between us and that nightmare is your congressmen and senators’ FEAR OF NOT BEING REELECTED!

underestimated. My advise… participate and take pictures, lots and lots of pictures from every angle and set the record straight when a letter to the editor says the crowd was 1/10 what was actually there. Stop feeling helpless and outraged and direct your outrage to action. Check out the National Tea Party Patriots online and join the local Humboldt County Tea Party Patriots. You might be surprised at how much a couple of hours a month can turn the tide against an eventual “Peoples’ Republic of America”. Dorice Miranda and Gwen Morris are the go-to-girls who get everything done or at least start the ball rolling. There will be a protest in Sacramento on Friday, August 28 that is likely to be the largest protest nationally to date. A bus is being rented and the first 50 people to purchase a ride for approximately $50 each (way cheaper than driving alone) will make the one-day trip. Contact Dorice or Gwen for more details. And please get involved! The changes Obama is rushing through Congress are changing our nation, not only for us, but for our children and their children FOREVER. Unless you put action to your outrage, that is CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!

during the campaign paid attention to the times Obama laid out his plan to “transform America”. Now we are all learning just what “change” really means!

What can you do??? You can continue to pay attention and share information with family, friends, work colleagues, neighbors, etc. You can (and for many of us for the first times in our lives) add your voice to the growing masses of protestors at every opportunity! One extremely effective way is to join the Tea Party Patriots. This massive nation-wide grassroots organization has materialized in just a few months. It draws people from all walks of life and every political orientation together. Why? Because as The first to sound the alarm were different as we all are, the one Republicans, but now even my thing we all have in common is love for our country and our way liberal friends are afraid and of life. The “mainstream media” complaining loudly! That hope and change thing sounded really of course is in the tank for Obama good to a lot of people when the and refuses to accurately report on only ones that would have to pay Tea Party events. They seem to for Obama’s version of nirvana think that we should blindly follow their anointed one! We were the so-called greedy, evil rich. They didn’t realize that even have seen that here in Humboldt their lives would be regulated County where estimates for from birth to assisted “end of life” participants at Tea Party issues (spelled D-E-A-T-H). Few gatherings are dramatically

California Legislation by Vee Sorenson
Is anyone in control concerned about our State’s economy? Has Sacramento noticed that the current budget planning will not affect our low bond rating? Have they opened their eyes to the fact that even with gimmicks, the deficit is still 15 billion dollars? I am sure they know these things, so we can only assume they don’t care. Our elected officials have only delayed, not averted, a fiscal meltdown. They have ignored the tens of billions in unfunded bonded indebtedness and pension liabilities. All the while the gimmickry and irresponsibility goes on in Sacramento to further the crisis, these same people are considering a long list of economy-crippling regulations in the phony Global Warming Solutions Act. What is the solution? I can’t come up with one other than hoping and praying that voters will open their eyes to what is happening and instead of returning these incompetent, self-serving people to Sacramento...replacing them with those who have looked up the definition of fiscal restraint and believe in it.

We must all have experienced at one time, a small one asking us to read his or her favorite book. Those little ones then like to snuggle up close to the reader and listen intently to a story they have probably heard many times. Jesus knew people liked stories and his telling was usually about common things. That was the reason he was known for his many parables. In one, he used the simple mustard seed to demonstrate about faith. Here is an example of something that starts out very small and its potential is used as an example of how tiny things can grow into powerful things. It reminds me of the Tea Party our forefathers were responsible for. That episode has echoed through the pages of our nation’s history, inspiring many generations. In recent months, that lesson of success has grown into something much larger than what took place in Boston. I like to think that the small idea years ago was picked up by those who still care and have a deep love for our country. That small idea has grown into something we should all be a part of. The local TEA PARTY PATRIOTS deserve all of our support. Let the parable of Jesus and the mustard seed come alive in our hearts, growing into something powerful and meaningful for our country. Jesus left us with a great parable to inspire and see us through these critical times.

Thanks to all the ladies who brought much needed items for the ladies at the Women’s Shelter. You donated a wonderful selection of shampoos, soaps, body lotions and powder, toothpaste and brushes and an array of personal items. The American Business Women’s Association members with whom we paired to collect and donate were very pleased with all we had gathered. And needless to say the Women’s Shelter was also very pleased and thankful for the generous amount of supplies you gave.

A MERICANISM R EPORT : F LY THE F LAG
SOLUTION TO THE HEALTH CARE CRISIS: With Obama's radical proposals for 'government health care' (can you say ‘enforced senior euthanasia’??), here is an alternate suggestion...

C HRIS W ENNERHOLM

When you turn 70, you get a gun and 4 bullets. You are allowed to shoot 2 senators and 2 representatives. Of course, you will be sent to prison where you will get 3 meals a day, a roof over your head and all the health care you need!!! New teeth, new glasses, new hip/ knee/ kidney/ lung/ heart? No problem. And who will be paying for all of this? The same government that just told you that you are too old for health care. And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay income tax either! ------------------------THE 10 COMMANDMENTS ACCORDING TO OBAMA: After observing Obama, we have concluded that this President lives and governs according to his own set of "Ten Commandments," and certainly NOT the Ten we learned in Sunday School! http://news.newsmax.com/?KKO6X1n3t0NRs9L4.YIZX2T6fQbztfUAK&http://patriotupdate.com/leftyloonzI. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore. III. Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. IV. Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy. V. Honour thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money. VI. Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby. VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed. VIII. Thou shalt not steal, until you've been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hardworking, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives. IX. Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian. X. Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet. A huge rally will be held in Sacramento at the Capitol on Friday, August 28. Spokes persons said grassroots’ organizations representing California farmers, California truckers, California loggers and the people of California are coming together to tell elected officials that our state is suffering from over regulation. Tea Party leaders said, “Leave us alone,” is their message. The rally starts at noon and runs until 5:00. Speakers will talk about health care, AB 32California’s Cap & Trade, AB118, ( the bill to rescind AB 32) and the Environmental Protection agency shutting off irrigation to farmers in the central valley. The goal is to get the attention of government officials and ask them to address the people’s concerns and issues. For more information use www.sac828.org . A chartered bus is leaving our area and returning to Eureka that day or choose to attend on your own! If you would like more details or to join Tea Party Patriots call 707-498-3101.

Warren Reese, associate member of HRWF, was the winner of the gift basket donated by Cher Ae Heights in Trinidad. The basket was presented by HRWF President Colleen Hedrick.

Let’s nip the blue dogs
Four of the Democrat Blue Dogs decided to cut a deal with the Liberals in the House of Representatives and support the one-size-fits-all medical bill that is now commonly called “Obamacare.” The four need to be on the telephone calling list of every freedom-loving person in this country: Bart Gordon (TN) 202-225-4231,

tell it like it is, for the good they do and equally for the bad.” A great comment has been making the rounds about the Blue Dogs: “The Blue Dogs bark a lot, then they lay down, roll over, and play dead.” That seems pretty doggone accurate, so let’s dial and wake them up. If you are good at it, I suggest growling a little where appropriate.

Zack Space (OH) 202-226-6265, Baron Hill (IN) 202-225-5315, and Mike Ross (AR) 202-225-3772. It is common that members of congress take the position of not relating to citizens out of their voting area, but what they do so often affects all of us. I find it completely realistic that voters say, “Let’s all call them up and

here a czar, there a czar, everywhere a czar, czar by Colleen Hedrick
Currently we are paying more than 30 Czars and these people are only accountable to President Obama. We don’t know what all these people do. We do know they all get salaries and benefits. We also know that it has been said that some of them have no background related to their Czarship (I don’t know if that’s a word but it seems appropriate.) The rest of it may be better known as time goes along. Michelle Obama, for reasons unknown, is listed as part of the administration. Who recalls seeing her name on the ballot? However it happened, she has a staff of more than 20 persons to do her bidding. They all have impressive job titles, but what they do is not known. The latter makes perfect sense since we do not know what the first lady’s job is for the administration. We do know that she is focused on looking great while she does it since, beyond her 20 member staff, she takes along a hairdresser and a cosmetologist when she travels. It has only been in more recent times that first ladies have had taxpayer-paid staff members. Mamie Eisenhower had only a personal secretary and she was responsible for her salary. Other first ladies since those days have had one- to three- member staffs. But let’s get back to the Czar thingy. The new Czar for the scary health bill is called the “Health Care Commissioner.” If this crazy legislation passes, we have simply got to figure out how to get on the good side of whoever that is. They will be empowered to determine whether coverage is or is not “acceptable.” The nitty gritty translation of “acceptable” is ‘do they live or do they die?’ So the sooner we know something about his background, the better. It is interesting to speculate on what that background may be. It doesn’t seem likely a doctor is in the running since the members of congress who are doctors are warning us not to touch the plan with a long stick. Economists have warned the costs are beyond all reason, so they’re blacklisted. Personally, I am voting for the hairdresser and the cosmetologist, because if I’ve got to go, I for damned sure want to look better than good while I am going.
