At IBS, we offer innovative and globally accepted programs and great opportunities for all-round development. 100% case-based learning is unique to IBS. IBS transforms its students into leaders of the future. IBS campuses are located at Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. They offer two-year, full-time Management Programs to prepare the students and equip them for successful corporate careers. These campuses are independent professional institutions and are neither affiliated to nor are off-campus centres of any university.

The IBS Approach
IBS has a unique and innovative approach to business education, that focuses on providing the right knowledge, imparting the right skills for enduring success in management careers, and shaping the right attitudes.

Knowledge
The right knowledge is clearly a critical success factor in business. The right knowledge implies relevant, contemporary and cutting-edge knowledge, in the theory and practice of a variety of core, functional and integrative subjects. As practice precedes theory in business, equal emphasis is placed on concepts and applications. This blending of ideas and actions is achieved through various pedagogic techniques like lectures, case studies, business games, the summer internship program, the management research project, etc.

Skills
What matters most in business is what one can actually do. Doing well implies mastering and applying the skills - professional, personal and human - required for effective decision-making and execution. IBS trains the students in these skills through a series of soft-skills lab sessions scheduled over the duration of the program. In addition, case-based learning at IBS helps students develop good analytical skills.

Attitude
A critical attribute for success in life is cultivating the right attitudes like positive thinking, risktaking, opportunity-seeking, adapting to change, and achieving a proper balance between divergent goals of life. IBS helps students develop the right attitudes, and encourages them to grow into balanced and well-rounded individuals capable of taking up leadership positions.

Pedagogy
Student-centered Learning IBS believes in student-centered learning. IBS then uses rubrics to assess the learning. Using Rubrics Rubrics are tools to assist in the measurement process. Rubrics define the various levels of each of the components of learning in a measurable way. Rubrics assist both the student and the faculty to clearly identify the level to which the outcome has been achieved. IBS uses rubrics for assessing the soft skills and summer internships for its management programs.

Leadership Development
IBS aims to transform students into leaders of tomorrow's businesses and this development takes place continuously on the IBS campuses. The structure of the Management Program, the corresponding soft-skills training and the experience of handling events and responsibility brings out the leader in the student. Case method: The case method puts you in the decision makers' seats and poses the questions. It teaches one to draw insights from pure data and take decisions in the absence of complete data. The person leading the case discussion is a decision maker and the rest of the class will support and push the analysis of the case to the extent possible. The focus is on coming to a decision for the situation in the case with analysis of facts and a 360 degree view. Soft skills: A leader creates his/her vision for the organisation and communicates it effectively to the rest of the organisation. The soft-skills training at IBS will enable the students to judge their communication abilities. There is also a focus on improving the EQ of our future leaders so that they are able to deal with the human element of running organisations. Extracurricular activities: The students are encouraged to participate in a multitude of extracurricular activities so that they come out as well-rounded individuals. Organising cultural events, talks by stalwarts of the industry and a variety of on-campus activities give the students the chance to manage events, take responsibility for their success and become better, more experienced leaders.

Learning Methodology
The learning methodology at IBS is based on continuous learning. We are always learning from our surroundings and the events that are taking place around us. IBS is one of the very few management schools in India to have a 100% case method focus. This method puts the students in the decision-making position and gives their analysis the edge of real-world sensibilities. The case method, made famous by the Harvard Business School, is used world over by leading management institutes. The case method adopts the Socratic way of learning. In this method, questions are posed one after the other and alternatives are debated over. This kind of learning is not one-to-many as in a lecture but many-to-many with both teachers and students taking the analysis forward. In the networked world of today, communication skills are becoming very important. A manager's main role is to communicate his/her vision and strategy to others and get them to work with him/her towards that vision. IBS places special importance on the communication and interpersonal skills of the leaders that it sends out into the business world. The students' skills are tested and then fine-tuned through a rigorous yet informal method of learning through doing. The learning methodology at IBS is drawn from the best in the world, has evolved over the years and is constantly being updated and benchmarked against the best. Come join in the transformation that awaits you at IBS!

Case Method
The case study method is a key component of the academic program at all IBS campuses, which is one of the few institutions in India that has made case studies a critical component of its curriculum. Almost all the courses in the IBS program are designed keeping in mind the advantages of the case method. Some courses are even taught entirely through case studies - the case studies being tailor-made to the requirements of different subject areas and topics. Student evaluation is based on individual/team presentations, written reports and class participation. Cases encourage indepth analysis by gathering supporting information - either through published sources or by directly interacting with the companies involved. IBS has a huge repertoire of case studies for almost all the functional areas in management. IBS has dedicated research and content development centres for producing case studies and supporting material. Manned by teams of knowledge workers with many years of academic and corporate experience, these centres develop contemporary and thought-provoking case studies which provide great learning value to the students.

IBS® Case Development Centre Asia-Pacific's Largest Repository of Management Case Studies IBSCDC, over 2700 case studies, 877 structured assignments and 1130 teaching notes, is Asia Pacific's largest repository of business management case studies. All these case studies, having been tested in the most demanding classrooms at MBA, Executive MBA and Ph.D level, come with a clear concept focus and decision dilemmas. Added to this is extraordinary rigor. Over 1,20,000 copies have been bought by leading universities, business schools and corporate clients across the world. Learning through the globally accepted and popular case method of learning, students are able to hone their comprehension, analytical and decision-making skills and become better team players and managers.

Soft Skills Development

Objectives
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to compete successfully in the business environment. The real key to the effectiveness of professionals is their ability to put their domain knowledge into effective practice. In this context, soft skills have a crucial role to play. If future managers know how to deal with people at the emotional level (peers, subordinates, superiors, clients, suppliers etc.) through Emotional Intelligence (EI), they can build and sustain effective relationships that will result in mutual gain.

Extracurricular Activities

Mens sana in corpore sano' is a Latin proverb that means „a healthy mind lives in a healthy body‟. In order to keep up with the rigorous curriculum and demanding workload at IBS, it is necessary that students are able to look after their health and let out steam once in a while. In order to transform students into healthy managers, with all-round development, IBS provides a multitude of opportunities for sports and other extracurricular activities. There is much more to learn outside the classroom and lot of chances for interactions with fellow students. Every student on campus leaves not just with a degree but also with friendships and bonds that last a lifetime. The student community at IBS is truly diverse; the students come from different states, social and cultural backgrounds, and walks of life. As they become a part of the IBS community, they get an unparalleled exposure to different cultures, languages and ways of living. Several student activities are directed towards extending the classroom learning experience. Such activities include organizing seminars on contemporary management issues, publishing in-house

magazines, organizing guest lectures, and organizing and participating in inter-business school competitions. Similarly, academic clubs and committees provide a platform for students to make management a part of their daily lives. Industry leaders are invited to the clubs to deliver talks on contemporary issues. The clubs and committees organize quizzes and debates, and meet frequently to discuss new ideas, issues, and developments in their areas of interest. Students participate in sports and games at the well equipped Sports Activities Center as well as the swimming pool on campus. It provides much needed relaxation, exercise as well as a chance to compete and work as a team. Students also participate successfully in national and international inter-business school competitions. Two MBA students won the Second prize in the prestigious Baylor-USASBE Student Case Research Competition organized by the Baylor University Entrepreneurship Programme and United States association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in South Carolina, in January 2011. Students also contribute to the world around them through social service projects, such as organizing blood donation camps and environmental protection programmes.
