Insure Your Dwelling Home insurance consist of several categories in term of sum insured which you may choose from according to the extent of risk perceived and total value of your assets. Under Section 1-2 of sum insured states that the loss of asset for first time must be within 50% of the true market value of the property which is at risk along with terms and conditions below it. The remaining Sections are address on Full Value basis - Market Value for Section 5 and Reinstatement Value for Section 3 & 6. Sections 5 and 6 are optional. You can cancel both the section from the cover taken, if they are not crucial to you. Following are the Sections mentioned below:1. Fire and Perils: Assets are covered against fire, exploding of water tanks, riots, strike and malicious damage, earthquake, flood, cyclone, landslides, etc. 2. Burglary and other Perils: Valuable are covered against burglary, robbery or dacoity. 3. Television/Video Equipment: This Section compensate loss or damage occurred to your television/ video equipment against fire, theft. 4. Personal Accident: This section covers you and your family members against accidental injury results in death or disablement. 5. Fire and Perils (Building): This Section covers the residential building, if owned by you against perils mentioned under the Fire and Perils Section. 6. Personal Computer: This Section compensate the loss or damage to your personal computer against fire, theft, accidental damage and breakdown. Can include Wall materials and fixed furniture in the sum insured, if the building is insured. Do not insure any item more than 10 years old.
