The Creation of Internet
Internet has been an integral part of our everyday life for the last 5 years.
But it wasn't like that 50 years ago when it didn't exist. Internet has been
developed amazingly fast. But what is the Internet? The internet has been
an evolving tool that not only contains an amazing variety of information,
also has created new ways of communicating, accessing, interacting and
connecting with people and content. The internet had been created
through ARPANET, which was created by the United States Defense
Department Advance Research Projects Agency in 1960’s. Creators of the
Internet had achieved one of the many great discovery of the world
By that time there were not easy connections between different networks.
That has changed since 1974. By 1964, there were only 4 computers in
ARPANET and they were all at US Universities. This had grown to 5000
internet hosts in 1986, after which the number of users has grown rapidly
into the million and then hundreds of millions of today. This process has
changed the way we see internet right now. Internet had changed a lot
since it was created.
The internet has become a great deal to society. We have been using
Internet to have access to a great amount of information we need.
Internet allows us to communicate with the rest of the world.
Communicating through social network has become part of our daily life.
Even when there have been a lot of complaints about lack of privacy on
the internet, people don’t stop using it.
When ARPANET had started to work, people didn’t know how important
would it be. Through time people have become more and more dependent
on the internet. We need to have in mind that kids between 5 and 10
years old have been growing up in a technological society that it is
constantly changing.
What could happen with the Internet 10 or 20 years from now considering
that there is an endless number of updates every single day? The internet
will become like electricity during the next decade, less visible but more
important and embedded in everyday life. There will exist computer ships
under the skin that provides vital sings in real time to self-trackers and
medical providers. The Internet will may break down Geography, because
every person on this planet will be able to reach and communicate two
way with every person on the planet. The internet will have helped society
to evolve, also will have helped develop technologies so smart that two
things could happen, we could get either smarter or dumber.
Probably, in next 5 or 10 years we will be speaking to machines to do part
of our household duties. Who knows, maybe in 50 years people will be
thinking that we were monkeys, because internet and society will have
developed so much that by the time people won’t be able to understand
how we had lived at the moment. People will be changing as fast as the
internet does. To create something greater than internet it is a challenge
and it will remain as such.
