1.

What are your strengths?
I’m very creative. When it comes to problem solving, I try to
think outside of the box. For example, to create more space
in my room for a new roommate, I built a loft for him to
sleep in. It was quick, effective, and I spent less energy doing
so.

2.

What are your weaknesses?
When working alone, I can sometimes lose focus of the main
goal and get wrapped up in smaller problems within the task.
To overcome this, however, I have been working on
managing my work better into reasonable amounts that I can
handle quickly and diligently.

3.

Why are you interested in
working for The Port Authority?
When I think of Civil Engineering, I think about the
infrastructure that was built to connect people from all over
the nation. When it comes to infrastructure, The Port
Authority is one of the most well-known companies around
the world.

4.

Where do you see yourself
in 5 years? 10 years?
Working at The Port Authority has always been my main
goal. Ever since my tour of the George Washington Bridge, I
have wanted to have the opportunity to work on the bridge

5.

What can you offer us that
someone else can not?

6.
7.
8.

What are three things your
former manager would like you to improve on?
Are you willing to travel?

Yes, I have my own transportation so traveling is not a
problem for me.

9.

Tell me about an
accomplishment you are most proud of.

10.

Tell me about a time you
made a mistake.

I thought my field report for a CE class was due on Tuesday, so I
got up and spent the entire day working on it. I missed a class
only to find out the project was due next week.
11.

What is your dream job?

Working at the Port Authority! During my senior year in high
school I took a tour throughout the George Washington Bridge.
That’s the whole reason why I decided to major in Civil
Engineering.
12.

How did you hear about
this position?
I heard about the position from Raul Leonardo, who I know
through a kids swim team that I helped coach for a few
summers.

13.

What would you look to
accomplish in the first 30 days/60 days/90 days on the job?
30: Complete a project with a team.
60: I would like to be able to start learning how to work
alone, if need be.

14.

Discuss your resume.
As you can see, this is my third year at NJIT. Along with
many other classes, I have taken Civil Engineering Methods
which taught me more about AutoCAD and Revit. I have

taken Civil Engineering Materials and Procedures, which
introduces contracting, engineering ethics and building
procedures.

15.

Discuss your educational
background.
I have always been strong at math and science.
Academically, I had a very rough start in college. It took me
a while to mature and learn how to manage my time based on
the mass amounts of homework I began to receive plus the
swim practices I had to attend. But now I have my path set
and a plan to graduate as soon as possible.

16.

Describe yourself.

17.

Tell me how you handled a
difficult situation.

When I got my first car to commute to work, I had no idea what I
was putting my money into. When the car started falling apart I
realized the car had problems that required expensive repairs. So
instead I learned how to fix all the problems myself so I could
save money and do it all on my own time.
18.

Why should we hire you?

The Port Authority should hire me because I produce quality
work when given the opportunity. I always try to be the best
19.

Give a time when you went
above and beyond the requirements for a project.
I try to do so for every project I have. I believe it is important
to be unique otherwise what separates me from the next
person.

20.

Who are our competitors?

21.

What was your biggest
failure?
My biggest failure was my freshman year. I was not prepared
for college at all and did very poorly

22.

What motivates you?

The approval of my peers and elders.
23.

How do you handle
pressure?
To handle pressure I will simply take a breath, organize my
thoughts, and tackle the problem head on.

24.

What is the name of our
CEO?
The Chairman is David Samson and the Vice Chairman is
Scott Rechler.

25.

What are your career
goals?
To eventually complete a project on my own that is
publically honored.

26.

What gets you up in the
morning?
I get up early because I like to use every second of the day
that I possibly can to get my work done so I have time later
just in case something new pops up.

27.

Are you a leader or a
follower?
I am definitely a leader. I was the Captain of my high school
and club swim team both Junior and Senior year. I was also
the Gamma Epsilon Pledge Class president, and now I am
the fundraising chair which plans all the fundraising events
to keep our Fraternity going.

28.

What was the last book
you’ve read for fun?
I recently began reading the Communist Manifesto to learn
more about Socialism because my mother’s father strongly
believed in Socialism and I would like to know more about
its strength and weaknesses

29.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy biking, surfing, snowboarding, and playing guitar.

30.

What is your favorite
website?
My favorite website is www.vwvortex.com which is a forum
about Volkswagens. I like learning about cars and how to
work on them

What makes you
uncomfortable?

What are some of your
leadership experiences?

someone?

have for me?
