DO YOU WANT TO BE A GLOBAL FELLOW?
The Global Fellows Internship Program encourages exploration of international work experience. This is a competitive internship program that provides selected students with international internship experience in Asia. The program is open to U.S. citizens of all majors and provides stipends for USC undergraduates (freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors graduating in December) to live and work in Asia for eight weeks during the summer. Applications and supporting materials must be completed and returned to the Internship Programs Office (STU B1) by 5:00 pm on December 11, 2009. International Radio & Television Society Foundation, Inc. – 2010 Summer Fellowship Program The IRTS Foundation is a New York City-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which brings together the wisdom and power of today's leaders to train and educate the next generation of media and communication professionals. Our programs and diversity initiatives help ensure that the business responsible for informing, entertaining, and educating the public reaches its highest potential in this exciting digital age. The IRTS Summer Fellowship Program teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the media industry and business world through a nine-week, expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Fellows gain full-time, "real world" experience at New York-based media companies. In addition, the Fellowship provides the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take related field trips, and attend panels, lectures and group discussions. The Summer Fellowship Program is competitive. Students must be college juniors, seniors or graduate students at the time of application. L.A. Mart – Marketing Intern Help coordinate marketing efforts geared toward increasing traffic and sales for showrooms and exhibitors. You will be exposed to many fields, i.e. client services, advertising, public relations, copy writing, graphic design, event planning and direct marketing. Position is paid and academic credit supported. Perform client services for key/new customers, assist showrooms w/ promotional opportunities and attendees w/ buyer program initiatives, perform data entry/administrative duties including formatting excel sheets, contacting attendees for updated contact information and to extend invitation to upcoming events. Skills/Abilities: Great customer service, confidence with helping, educating, and instructing individuals, experience w/ Microsoft Office (Excel!), Adobe Photoshop. T. Howard Foundation – Internship Program (Summer) The T. Howard Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to increasing diversity in the multimedia and entertainment industry. Focusing on women and multi-ethnic groups, the foundation carries out its mission through a comprehensive program for college students that consists of: an internship program that gives students industry knowledge and experience;

professional development, that prepares students for their internship and the corporate environment; career awareness that recruits students by making them aware of career opportunities in the industry; and industry awareness that identifies and recruits multimedia organizations that will host interns. Students who become T. Howard interns are placed at major media companies that partner with the Foundation in support of our mission. A few of those partners include Comcast, DIRECTV, Discovery, ESPN, FOX, HBO, Intelsat, Lifetime, MTV, NBC Universal, Rainbow Media, Showtime, Time Warner Cable, and Turner Network Sales. Participating companies partner with the T. Howard Foundation to select and host interns. All application materials are due December 1, 2009 for summer 2010 internships. UNPAID INTERNSHIPS  Kor Realty Group – Real Estate Development Intern
Kor Realty Group is a privately held real estate investment, development and management firm. Kor’s portfolio encompasses high-design apartment, condominium and mixed-use developments in urban locations, and boutique hotels and resorts in select US and international markets. We are currently seeking an Intern for our Los Angeles Corporate Office. We are seeking highly motivated college interns with an interest in the real estate industry. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the Development and Sales & Marketing teams in our Corporate Office. This internship will give you hands-on experience in the strategic and operations areas of the company and give you an opportunity to learn about the real estate world. We are seeking Juniors and Seniors who are currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree program with previous class, internship or work experience in real estate, development or finance. USC College Advancement – Corporate & Foundation Relations Intern Student Intern Sought for Corporate and Foundation Relations Office The USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences’ Advancement Office seeks a USC student intern to assist the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) staff in its Downtown Los Angeles office. The Office of CFR is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts from private foundations and corporations in support of the Dean’s highest priorities. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in a robust development office of a major research university. Our intern will enjoy paid parking and a professional working space in a fast-paced office in the heart of the Downtown financial district! This position supports three CFR Development Officers, and responsibilities include everyday tasks such as filing, organization, data entry, errands, scheduling, and some phones, but will also include a fair amount of research and some writing. This intern will play an integral role in the development and implementation of messaging for external audiences—including completion of a new CFR website and corporate collateral materials. Intern will also conduct research on corporate and foundation prospects. Course credit only. Work hours are flexible, but student must be available at least 2 days a week for fall 2009 and/or spring 2010. Position starts ASAP. Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and proficiency using internet tools for research are a must. Previous work experience in an office setting or performing administrative duties are a plus. Graduate students and upperclassmen preferred, but will consider other applicants. Focus Features – Publicity Intern Spring 2010 Focus Features, part of NBC Universal, is a singular global company dedicated to producing, acquiring, financing, selling, and distributing original and daring films from emerging and established filmmakers – films that challenge mainstream moviegoers to embrace and enjoy voices and visions from around the world. The company operates as Focus Features domestically, and as Focus Features International overseas. (http://www.filminfocus.com). Publicity Interns in the busy, fast-paced domestic publicity department will have duties including “breaking” daily press clippings, monitoring Internet coverage, managing and organizing a periodicals library, pitching promotional partners, and overseeing research projects. Candidates should be detail-oriented, motivated, hard-working, and have a desire to learn. All interns must be able to obtain school credit and at least of sophomore standing. US Senator Diane Feinstein, LA Office – Intern Senator Feinstein's Los Angeles office is looking for highly motivated college students for internship positions for the winter, spring, and summer sessions. I have included information on the internship below and attached. Please feel free to forward and post at your convenience. Interns support our Field Representatives and Staff Assistants in drafting memos to the Senator, scheduling or attending meetings with staff, constituent letters, conducting background research, phone calls, document requests, morning press clippings, research projects, and attending events with the Senator when she is in the area. For many citizens, contact with Senator Feinstein's office is their only experience with an elected representative. Therefore, we need polite and friendly students with some familiarity with the American political system and current events. Additionally, strong writing and editing skills are a plus. Flexible hours (a minimum of 12 hours/wk) during the school year. We are very conducive to working with students' class schedules. FELLOWSHIPS 2010 International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
The Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center of Howard University, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, invites college sophomores, juniors and seniors to apply for the International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program at Howard University. This program is designed to help students, particularly African-American and other minority group students, increase their understanding of international affairs issues and learn about and prepare for career opportunities in international affairs. This will be a six-week program, for which up to 9 credit hours (three courses) of academic credit in international studies may be awarded. The program emphasizes skills, strategies, and knowledge students will need to master for success in the area of international affairs and in the competitive Foreign Service examination process. To give participants greater insight into the policymaking process and international affairs careers, the program includes visits to the State Department, other U.S. government agencies, and Capitol Hill, as well as meetings with representatives of non-governmental groups. The Rangel Program will cover tuition, travel, room, and board for students accepted into the program. Participants also receive a stipend. Students must be American citizens, be full-time undergraduate students who have completed their sophomore year in college before the program begins, and have at least a 3.2 grade point average. The selection committee may consider students who have completed their freshman year if they have significant international experience. Application deadline February 12, 2010. Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program
Howard University, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, invites outstanding individuals interested in international affairs and careers in the U.S. Foreign Service to apply for the 2010 Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowships. Graduating seniors and recent college graduates with strong academic records and an interest in international affairs are encouraged to apply. The Rangel Program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. Those selected will receive support for graduate school and enter into one of the most exciting and rewarding careers available. We expect to provide 20 fellowships in 2010. Program Benefits : • An orientation to the Program and the Foreign Service at Howard University in Washington, D.C. • Two paid summer internships, one on Capitol Hill the summer after selection and one overseas in a U.S. embassy during the summer between the first and second years of graduate school. • Up to $34,000 annually toward tuition, fees and living expenses for a two-year master’s degree in international affairs, public administration or other relevant area to the work of the Foreign Service. • Mentoring from a Foreign Service Officer throughout the duration of the fellowship • Employment in the State Department Foreign Service for those who successfully complete the program and Foreign Service entry requirements, with a contractual agreement committing each Rangel Fellow to a minimum of three years of service as a Foreign Service Officer Must be US citizen. Must be seeking admission to enter a graduate school in the fall of 2010 for a twoyear program. Must have cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
