On January 14th, 2011 VE Management & Insurance (VEMI) won its 3rd consecutive NYC Business Plan Competition Championship. Never before has a school won this competition 3 straight years. New Dorp HS has once again distinguished itself with another prestigious record. The Printing Depot from Fort Hamilton HS finished 2nd and there was a rare tie for 3rd place. VE Law from New Dorp and Bon Voyage Travel from Fort Hamilton. VEMI had to present twice in the morning round at Deloitte & Touche CPA firm, along with 19 other high ranking teams. The top 8 were announced at 1:00, and 12 of the teams had to

go home very disappointed. VEMI presented 7th in the final round of 8 and were absolutely flawless. Julio Mejia led off with the Introduction, followed by Nick Venier with Management Functions. Kelly Nelson followed with Financials and Stephen Heyer informed the judges with the current economic conditions. Erum Zubair wowed the judges with her Marketing Segmentation, Roy Dieudonne gave the SWOT Analysis and Klea Papuli concluded with the Marketing Plan. This year is the fourteenth annual Virtual Enterprises Trade Fair, which will be held on April 7, 2011. This year’s Trade Fair event is being held in the heart of New York City at the 69th Regiment Armory, located on Lexington Avenue at East 25th Street. This location allows VEMI, as well as other firms, to have direct access and exposure to New York’s vast and diverse business, cultural, and educational communities. There will be several competitions related to the VE Trade Fair. Students will have the opportunity to compete for prizes in the following categories: Best Booth, Best Sales Pitch, Best Web Page and Best Catalog. We are looking forward to winning prizes in several of these categories, as we believe we are one of the most creative and successful firms in the nation. VEMI is definitely looking forward to this Trade Fair so that we can market our services, and achieve our goal of reaching and surpassing our break-even point in sales. We had a very successful trip to the California Trade Fair and are looking for even better results in New York. This is a great business opportunity for us and we are looking to take full advantage of it. Finalists from the statewide business plan competitions also will compete in a championship round for cash prizes to be awarded to team members and their programs. The top three national teams will be announced on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the opening ceremony of the Trade Fair.
