GENERAL INFORMATION
SILENT AUCTION PROCEDURES
1. All items have a minimum bid of $20 unless otherwise specified.
1. Items “won” must be paid for before the close of the event. Payment by the successful bidder may be made thirty minutes following the board’s closing or at the end of the auction (should you wish to pay for all items “won” at one time). Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, or checks (payable to the Preservation Resource Center).
2. To enter a silent auction bid: Sign up for an auction ID number at the auction entrance – you will use this number for bidding throughout the night.
2. All property is sold “as is”. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds from either the PRC or the participating merchants except where expressly stated otherwise.
3. All bids must be made in writing. Once you have decided on a bid amount, write down your auction ID number and bid amount on a bid slip. Place your bid slip in the bid basket located on each table.
3. Items may be removed only by exhibiting a paid receipt at the appropriate table as you leave.
4. You may bid as often as you wish prior to each board’s closing.
5. A 10‐minute notice will be given prior to each board’s closing.
4. Items must be taken the night of the auction.
5. Reservations for meals, hotels and trips are on a space‐available basis, and most do not include alcohol or gratuity. Please check with donor for specific details after the auction.
6. Please note expiration dates on gift certificates as well as any applicable exclusions.
6. Two minutes prior to the closing of each board, only silent bidding will be accepted, no bids will be posted during this two‐minute time frame. The highest bid at the end of silent bidding is binding, regardless of whether the next highest bid was also placed by the same person.
7. Board closings will be signaled by the ringing of a bell. NO BIDS will be taken after the bell sounds. Winning bids will be posted as soon as tallied.
8. Please respect the following bidding raises:
$10 increments for all items
9. In the event of a tie‐bid, it will be posted on the board and an announcement will be made. Each bidder has 15 minutes to respond with another bid. The highest bid will win the item.
10. In the event of a dispute, a designated auction official will determine the winning bidder. His/her decision will be final.
