The artwork has two different fonts of writing ,
both are used to target a young and childish
audience .The top font looks like balloons , its
shiny and cartoon like shape connects her album
to a youthful audience . The bottom font is made
to look like candy cane , which we also associate
with kids . Contrasting this child like theme is the
dripping and slightly cheeky looking side of the
fonts . ‘Teenage Dream’ can clearly target this
young teenage audience , it refers to Katy Perry
as being this sought of ‘dream’ to the youth of
today. Targeting a male audience with her half
naked and seductie positioning .
The font and title links with the image she
uses , a painting of her , naked and lying in
a slightly seductie position on top of light
pink clouds, The clouds also follow the
candy and sweet side of the coer. This
works with the dream idea of her being se!y
and beautiful to all teenagers .
The fact that the album coer is
so highly decorated , and targets
young teenage girls who want to
look like her shows that her star
image is more about Katy
herself than her music . "t also
implies that the music within will
follow similar themes to her
coer , a comfortable and se!y
album which can relate to young
teens , fantasising about her.
The bright #$D and %&'$ colours in the fonts stand out significantly, this also
implies that her image is more important than the music of the album , the
dripping effect on the bottom set of writing can refer to it being ery hot or follow a
summer and seductie theme ( Katy herself is ‘hot’).
