KY001 – B Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Site  (A40) 3 miles south of Hodgenville on US31E

and SR61. Site has reproduction of typical log cabin from Lincoln’s era, dioramas, movie, etc. Allow minimum of one hour. Daily 8-6:45, Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day; 8-4:45 rest of year. Park ranger talks daily at 10, 2, & 3, Memorial Day to Labor Day Day.. FREE Ph: 270.358.3137. KY002 – B Bardstown (A40-42) 1) My Old Kentucky Dinner Train  departs from depot at 602 N. 3dr Street for a 2.25 or 2.5 round-trip through the Kentucky countryside in restored 1940s dining cars pulled by diesel engines. Meal is served en route recapturing the experience of vintage American railroad dining. Each table seats 4 people. Murder mystery trips are also available. 2) My Old Kentucky Home State Park  [Gem site] .75 mi. southeast on US150, also known as “federal

Hill”. This is a mansion furnished with heirlooms and portraits with a portion built as early as 1795. Tours are available. Picnicking is permitted and camping is available. Daily 9-5. $4.50 admission, over 62 yrs = $4. KY003 – B Cave City (A46)  1) Crystal Onyx Cave, off I-65 exit 53 then 2 mi. east on SR90 to 363 Prewitts Knob Rd. contains rare onyx formations, a lake, and cave-dwelling wildlife. An Indian burial site dated 680 BC may also be viewed. Wear a jacket, as cave temp is 54ºF. Camping & picnic facilities available. Daily 8-6, June 1 –  Aug 1, 9-5 Aug 2 – Dec 31 and Feb-May. Guided one-hour tours are ar e available. Cave tours $7.50. Ph: 270.773.2359 2) Mammoth Cave Wildlife Museum, off I-65 exit 53 then 1 mi. east on SR90, displays collection of wildlife specimens from around the world. More than 1600 stuffed large mammals, butterflies, beetles, birds, fish and reptiles are mounted in their natural habitats. Daily 8-8 June-Aug; daily 8-6 Apr-May and Sept-Oct. $6. Ph: 270.773.2255. KY004 – B Danville (A50) Pioneer Playhouse on Old US150 at 840 Stanford Road. An outdoor theatre that presents Broadway productions. The 200-aacre complex includes hiking trails through 65 wooded acres, a campground and museum known as ‘The Village of the Arts’, all centered around a Wild West street on which movies have been made. Guided tours available. Shows Tues-Sat at 8:30PM (dinner served at 7:30), June-Aug. KY007 – B Frankfort (A53-56) 1) The city’s oldest residential neighborhood centers on the Corner of Celebrities, bounded by Wapping, Washington, Main, and Wilkinson streets. There are more than 40 sites of historical or architectural interests in this area. Self-guiding walking / driving tour maps available at the tourist and convention commission. 2) Liberty Hall Historic Site [Gem site], 218 Wilkinson St., consists of two historic houses situated on 4 acres of formal gardens. Tours of both houses focus on the lives of the Brown family, prominent in the early days of Kentucky’s statehood. Allow one hour. hour. Guided house tours begin at Liberty Hall Tues-Sat at 10:30, noon, 1:30, and 3; Sun at noon, 1:30, and 3, Mar 1 to mid-Dec. Grounds and gardens open daily dawn to dusk. $5, over 59 yrs = $4. KY008 – B Georgetown  (A56-57) Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Plant Tour  is  is off I-75 exit 126: take US62, 2.5 miles east to the visitors’ entrance. Visitors’ center offers exhibits and interactive displays. Tours of plant last 45 minutes and begin with short videotape. Visitors center open Mon-Fri 9-4, also Thurs 4-7; tour departs Mon-Fri  holidays and  holidays  in July. Closed  third week  in 10, noon, and 2, also Thursfor at tour. 6PM. KY009 – B Harrodsburg  (A57-58) Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill , [Gem site], 7 miles east on US68, is America’s largest restored Shake village, founded in 1805. Village is an outdoor history museum preserving 34 original buildings on 2,900 acres; 15 can be toured. Food available. Paddlewheeler Dixie Bell offers 1-hour trips. Allow 4 hours minimum. Daily 10-5, Apr-Oct; 10:30-4:30, rest of year. Riverboat trips depart from Shaker Landing at noon, 2, & 4, late-Apr-Oct 31. Village admission = $12.50; Riverboat = $5. KY011 – B Horse Cave (A59-60) 1) Kentucky Down Under / Kentucky Caverns [Gem site – YES!], I-65 exit 58 then .12 miles east on SR335. An interactive nature park home to Australian wildlife and a cave filled with unusual onyx

A booklet highlighting bike routes throughout Louisville and Jefferson County is available at most public libraries and at the visitor center at the Kentucky International Convention Center at 3 rd & Market streets.
