Products ofSAP :
SAP's products focus on Enterprise ResourcePlanning (ERP).The company's main product
is SAP ERP. The current versionis SAP ERP 6.0 and is part of the SAP Business Suite. Its
previous namewas R/3. The "R" of SAP R/3 stood for real time. The number3 related to the 3-

tier architecture: database, applicationserver and client (SAP). R/2, which ran on Mainframe
architecture, was the predecessor of R/3. Before R/2cameSystemRF, later dubbed R/1.

ERP:In 1973, theirfirst commercial product was launched. The SAP R/1, as it was
called, offered a common system for multiple tasks. This permittedthe use of centralized data
storage, improving the maintenance of the data.Froma technical point of view, therefore, a
database was necessary.
In 1976, "SAP GmbH" was founded, and movedits headquarters the following year
to Waldron. SAP AG became the company's official name after the 2005 annual general meeting.
AG is short for Aktiengesellschaft (corporation).
Three years later, in 1979, SAP launched SAP R/2, expanding the capabilities ofthe system to
other areas, such as material management and production planning.
In 1981, SAP brought a re-designed product to market. However, SAP R/2 did not improve until
the period between 1985 and 1990. SAP developed and released several versions of R/3 in
1992through 1995. By the mid-1990s, SAP followed the trend from mainframe computing
to client/server architectures. The development of SAP’s internet strategy withmy SAP.com
redesigned the concept of business processes (integration via Internet). SAPwasawardedIndustry
Week’s Best ManagedCompanies in 1999.

SAP ERP is one of five enterprise applications in SAP's Business Suite. The other four
applications are:

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – helps companies acquire andretain
customers, gain marketing and customer insight

Product

Lifecycle

Management (PLM)

helps

manufacturers

with

product-

relatedinformation

Supply Chain Management (SCM) – helps companies with the process of resourcing its
manufacturingand service processes

SupplierRelationship Management (SRM) – enables companies to procure from suppliers

Organization

Functional units of SAP are split across different organizational units for R&D needs, field
activities and customer support. SAP Labs are mainly responsible for product development

whereas the field organizations spread across each country are responsible for field activities
such Sales, Marketing, Consulting etc. Head office located in SAP AG is responsible for overall
management as well as core engineering activities related to Product Development. SAP
customer support, also called Active Global Support (AGS) is a global organization to provide
support to SAP customers worldwide.

SAP Labs locations:

SAP Lab Latin America

SAP Lab Israel
SAP Labs is the research and development organization of the parent company. SAP has its
development organization spread across the globe. As of Jan 2011, but not all, labs locations host
SAP Research groups.

The labs are located in Germany, France, Ireland, Bulgaria and Hungary in Europe; Palo Alto,
USA; Bangalore and Gurgaon,

India; São

Leopold,

Brazil; Ra'anana and Karmiel,

Israel; Montreal and Vancouver, Canada and Shanghai, China. SAP Labs India is the largest
development unit in terms of number of employees outside the SAP headquarters located
in Walldorf, Germany.

Each SAP Lab has prominent area of expertise and focus. SAP Labs in Sophia Antipolis, France
for example specializes in development of Java based SAP software products. Whereas, SAP
Labs in Palo Alto, California is famous for its focus on innovation and research.

SAP opened in June 2009 its new SAP Labs campus in Brazil, representing the first SAP Labs
Center in Latin America and the eighth worldwide. The facility is located in São Leopold, in the
state of Rio Grande do Sul and employs 520 people. Of particular note are the building’s
structure and interior, which are composed entirely of environmentally friendly materials. Since
these materials were not available in Brazil, constructing the facility did not come cheap for SAP.
The project was an effort not only to create a "green house" in Latin America, but also to design
offices with a pleasant work atmosphere.

SAP Labs Latin America has just received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Gold certification for the building.

COMPETITOR OF SAP:
ORACLE CORPORATION
SAP competitors are primarily in the Enterprise Resource Planning Software industry. In this
field, Oracle Corporation is SAP's major competitor. SAP also competes in the Customer
Relationship Management, Marketing & Sales Software, Manufacturing, Warehousing &
Industrial Software, and Supply Chain Management & Logistics Software sectors.

Oracle Corporation filed a case against SAP for malpractice and unfair competition in the
California courts on 22 March 2007. In Oracle Corporation v. SAP AG Oracle alleged that a
Texas subsidiary, SAP TN (formerly Tomorrow Now before purchase by SAP), which provided
discount support for legacy Oracle product lines, used the accounts of former Oracle customers
to systematically download patches and support documents from Oracle's website and

appropriated them for SAP's use. Later SAP admitted wrongdoing on smaller scale than Oracle
claimed in the lawsuit. SAP has admitted to inappropriate downloads; however the company
denies the theft of any intellectual property.

SAP claims to grow organically in contrast to its main rival, Oracle, which has spent close
to USD 40 billion during 2004–2010 acquiring many competitors. SAP was able to increase its
annual profits by 370% since 2002.
In a departure from its usual organic growth, SAP announced in October 2007 that it would
acquire Business Objects, a market leader in business intelligence software, for $6.8B.

SAP provoked controversy and frustration among its users in 2008 by raising the cost of its
maintenance contracts. The issue was the subject of intense discussion among user groups. The
resulting pressure saw SAP and SUGEN (SAP User Group Executive Network) agree to a major
benchmarking exercise to prove the value of the new support pricing policy to customers. In
December 2009, SAP delayed its Enterprise Support price rises until agreement had been
reached on the benchmarks and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

In January 2010 SAP did a U-turn (reversed its direction) on Enterprise Support and reintroduced
its standard support package for customers, saying the move was "a demonstration of its
commitment to customer satisfaction". The move to reinstate standard support – at 18 percent of
annual license fees, "will enable all customers to choose the option that best meets their

requirements," the company said. SAP has also announced that it is freezing prices for existing
SAP Enterprise Support contracts at 2009 level.

1.1 INDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM.
Every research faces problem in the beginning and we also research on the problem identified. In
this research work my topic SAP HR Payroll & salary management software. As we all know
consumer grasping services are different.

Consumer/company preferences depend upon howfast, free, reliable and comprehensive
information are given to them. Problem in this research work is regular changes or up gradation
in technology of providing information

As there aremany other strong competitors of Tss Solutions webproviding SAP & also just dial
like facilities to consumers/company with same level of accuracy and satisfaction. Many

consumers/company while taking these services may not see the company, they just avail its
services. So in research work we want to find out more preferences of consumer in information
services & customer/company using SAP HR Payroll & salary management software.

The main problem is changes in consumer or companies requirement.Area of study of this
research is Noida, as this area is very much popular and it is a metropolitan city and many
companies are here providing these services so it is become very difficult to attract
customers/company towards our company services, they just avail service who satisfy or attract
them. So making them aware about our services is very big problem, because in this area people
are literate, modernized and very choosy.

Sometimes companyis not able to fulfill the demand of the consumers/companies, and supply get
blocked, by this people switch on the another services provided by our competitor. So demand
for our competitor services rise and we have to face loss.

Check out all the circumstances which can create problem in the organization. Some of the times
technology becomes outdated, because of this problem services to the consumers are not proper.
All these are problem which is faced by the company. So we must take care. Before providing
any servicesfirst we must analyze the market & consumer need and requirement.

1.2 OBJECTIVES OF STUDY
Following were the objectives of the study:1. To enlist emerging fast, free, reliable and comprehensive information & SAP HR Payroll &
salary management software trends in Indian TSS Solutions
2. To find out lacking areas regarding the HRD in Tss Solutions.
3. To measure the perceptions of Tss Solutions web employees in respect of application of
HRD& SAP HR Payroll & salary management software in their organization.
4. To suggest the measures to fill the gaps and improve motivation level of employees and HR
management in Tss Solutions.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The study was exploratory in nature. All published and unpublished available on the subject
matter was consulted. Interview and discussions were held with the various executive/ Managers/
staff employed in Tss Solutions. The HRD functions/ activities being undertaken in different web
organizations were also studied. Primary and secondary data available with these organizations
was also used for this project study.
In order to measure the employee’s perceptions of emerging HR trends& SAP HR Payroll &
salary management software in Tss Solutions, the survey was undertaken. The survey was based
on structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was mainly based on objective type close-ended
question, but few open ended questions were also included.

Firstly, the pilot survey on ten randomly selected respondents was undertaken. Then the
questionnaire was modified accordingly, if desired.
The final questionnaire was administered in person to the extent possible and through mail if
needed. The 50respondents were selected among the executives and staff working in Tss
solutions . The convenient random sampling technique was used for the selection of the
respondents.
Finally, the results of the survey has been presented in Tabular form, analyzed and interpreted to
meet the required needs of this project study and presented in Report form.

DATA COLLECTION
TYPES OF DATA:
1) PRIMARY DATA: When someone refers to "primary data" they are referring to data
collected by the researcher himself/herself. This is data that has never been gathered before,
whether in a particular way, or at a certain period of time. Researchers tend to gather this type of
data when what they want cannot be find from outside sources. You can tailor your data
questions and collection to fit the need of your research questions. This can be an extremely
costly task and, if associated with a college or institute, requires permission and authorization to
collect such data. Issues of consent and confidentiality are of extreme importance. Primary data
actually follows behind secondary data because you should use current information and data

before collecting more so you can be informed about what has already been discovered on a
particular research topic.
2) SECONDARY DATA:If the time or hassle of collecting your own data is too much, or the
data collection has already been done, secondary data may be more appropriate for your
research. This type of data typically comes from other studies done by other institutions or
organizations. There is no less validity with secondary data, but you should be well informed
about how it was collected. There are a number of free services online as well as many other
made available through your current status as BYU students.

COLLECTION OF PRIMARY DATA: There are several methods of collecting primary data,
particularly in surveys and descriptive researches. In descriptive research, we obtain primary data
either through observation or through direct communication with respondents in one form or
another or through personal interviews.

COLLECTION OF SECONDARY DATA: These are already available i.e. they refer to the
data which have already been collected and analyzed by someone else. Secondary data may
either be published or unpublished data. Researcher must be very careful in using secondary
data, because the data available may be sometimes unsuitable.

Methods of data Collection:

PrimaryData:.

QUESTIONNAIRE METHOD:

This method of data collection is quite popular,

particularly in case of big enquiries. The questionnaire is mailed to respondents who are
expected to read and understand the questions and write down the reply in the space meant
for the purpose in the questionnaire itself. The respondents have to answer the questions on
their own.
HOW TO CONSTRUCT A QUESTIONNAIRE: Researcher should note the following
with regard to these three main aspects of a questionnaire: General form Question Sequence
Determine the type the Questions
A) Direct Question
B) Indirect Question
C) Open Form Questionnaire
D) Closed Form Questionnaire
E) Dichotomous Questions
F) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

 After doing the survey I felt that there is a need a change in HR payroll salary in the
organization. Usually all the company are satisfied with the use of HR payroll salary
system of appraisal which needs certain changes in it for the betterment of organization

 As most of the lower level of employees are unaware of the HR payroll salary system of
appraisal using SAP so I think there is a need of communicating them about what it is.

 This would help company to analyze how much salary to be given so ultimately it benefit
the organization and assessing them by giving good salary will motivate them to work
effectively & efficiently which is necessary for every organization growth.

 More transparency in the system would account for greater dynamism and accountability
of employees. The company should fix reasonable salary for each employee according to
their duties and evaluate performance at the beginning of a year and the evaluation paper
should be prepared in consultation with the employees leaving no space for
confidentiality.

Limitations and problems faced during the study

This study is not free form drawbacks and having following limitation:-

 The time period of 6 weeks was fairly less for such type of study as I have to go very far
for my study, so time constraint was limitation of study.

 Hesitation of exclusive and other authorities to reveal information valuable irrespective
of the study.

 Money was also constraint of my study. Company was not providing financial assistance
for study because I have to go far away in areas of noida so it becomes costlier.

 Improper response by some companies/customers.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
I can faced many problems during my summer internship butthe overall experience
of summer training is good. By the summer training I know about the company
environment, employees working style.
I got opportunities for self-development as there is a mutual relation with our
superiors. They guide me and always appreciate for my work done.and mostly
thanks the team of Tss Solutions and my faculty Dr.A.K.Agrawal sir.
