LG Mosquito Repellent Air Conditioner
For our final project of marketing management, two choices were given to us. First, was to re-
launch a failed product that was marketed in Pakistan at the time of its original launching but
failed miserably. Second was to market launch a new product, service or idea that hasn’t been
launched in Pakistan yet but has in other countries. We decided to launch the new air
conditioners (ACs) of LG Company that has two unique features. First is its Himalaya cool
technology that provides instant cooling to user by focusing on cooling the living space through
smart airflow and 2 times faster vertical air swing. It can be activated by a one touch key on the
remote controller. Using this technology the room is cooled up to 28% faster and saves energy
up to 53%. Second, is its mosquito repellent technology without the use of any chemicals. It uses
ultrasonic waves to repel the mosquitoes away. These ultrasonic waves are beyond the audible
range of humans and only impact the sensing of mosquitoes. This can be done by one touch key
on the remote controller. The reason why we choose to launch new unique product in Pakistan is
because LG is a good and reliable brand also we think that a new mosquito repellent technology
it is presenting would attract a huge market in Pakistan (due to problems of mosquitoes and
dengue). The price of the ACs begins at minimum Rs. 20,000 to about 75,000 max based on the
models this means that is affordable to even middle class people, which are the target market
with upper class people. The consumers can choose from Inverter V ACs, Split ACs, and
Windows ACs in various capacities. Also we already know that it saves up to 53% of energy due
to its Himalaya cool technology of 2 times faster vertical air swing. No other company has
developed this technology yet and even this company hasn’t launched this product in Pakistan
and in many countries. Air conditioners have a huge demand in summer season and this product
is according to the expectations of many financial analysts will bring a turnover of Rs. 2500
crore in India. Its cooling durability is very high and lasts more than two hours, so there will be
no problem of warm temperature due to load shedding. Last but not the least another important
feature of this product is that it is environmental friendly and the only danger will be for the heat
and mosquitoes. All in all, we believe that the turnover from this product in Pakistan will also be
very high due to its huge demand and attraction to customers. To conclude, marketing of this
product will be a huge success due of its vast scope, innovative technology and benefits that it
will provide to the people of our great nation.
