The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is unlike any test you have ever written. Through a standardized yet unconventional question format, the LSAT tests logical reasoning skills, analytical reasoning skills, and reading comprehension skills. The LSAT is administered four times a year, in February, June, October, and December. To register for the exam, please contact the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) by telephone at 215-968-1001 or online at www.lsac.org. Our intensive 30-hour courses and 48-hour courses are wellorganized, challenging sessions designed for students who wish to maximize their competitive position in relation to other students writing the LSAT. We focus on building the skills you need to master the LSAT. Our dynamic instructors give you a comprehensive understanding of each section of the LSAT, cover tactics specific to individual sections, and review strategies which apply to the test as a whole. If you want a competitive edge over other students writing the LSAT, consider Oxford Seminars. We maintain the highest standards for all our instructors and only select and train those instructors who have years of distinguished teaching experience and who have demonstrated outstanding achievement on the LSAT. We have successfully taught thousands of students. Our courses are held on university campuses across Canada. Our research department has compiled a summary profile of all law schools across Canada. In our continuing efforts to assist students with the entire law school application and admissions process, we have enclosed a copy of the useful profiles. A word of caution from our knowledgeable instructors about commercially available LSAT preparation materials: unfortunately, much of this material is poorly researched and does not reflect the current test. Our written materials are constantly updated and reflect the most recent changes in the LSAT.

“I definitely would recommend this course; it gave me the motivation to study and the strategies to succeed.”
- E. Lam

The Law School Admission Test
The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day, standardized exam administered four times each year by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) at designated testing centres throughout the world, but primarily in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Most Canadian law schools along with all American Bar Association (ABA) approved law schools require the LSAT as part of their admissions process.

The LSAT provides a standard measure of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools use as a primary factor in assessing applicants. The test itself is comprised of numerous questions designed to assess a wide range of abilities involved in critical thinking, with an emphasis on the skills that are central to legal reasoning. These skills include: the reading and comprehension of complex text with accuracy and insight the organization and management of information and the ability to draw reasonable inferences from it the ability to think critically the analysis and evaluation of the reasoning and arguments of others
Please visit our website at www.oxfordseminars.ca/LSAT for more information. 3

LSAT Exam Breakdown
Reading Comprehension 26 - 28 multiple-choice questions 35 - minute section Logical Reasoning (Arguments) 24 - 26 multiple-choice questions Two separate 35 - minute sections Analytical Reasoning (Games) 22 - 24 multiple-choice questions 35 - minute section Experimental Section 22 - 28 multiple-choice questions 35 - minute section Writing Sample 1 essay 35 - minute section

The LSAT is scored on a scale of 120 - 180 points. To put the score scale in perspective, the University of Toronto, for example, is looking for a potential candidate to have a score of approximately 168. The University of Victoria would be in the 162 range whereas the University of Ottawa does not require a minimum LSAT score of their applicants. The weight given to the LSAT will vary according to the other elements in each applicant’s file. Be sure to read the Canadian Law School Profiles in this package for more information about all law schools across the country.

Limited Class Size
In order to ensure a low student-to-instructor ratio, our LSAT test prep courses have a limited enrollment with spaces allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Practice LSAT Exam Tests with Review of Questions
Our courses conclude with the writing of full-length practice LSAT exams during which testing conditions are carefully reproduced. This provides our students with an excellent opportunity to practice and master (under LSAT exam conditions) the many skills they have acquired during the weekend course.
