But although technology is vastly changing their roles, librarians are still seen as “trusted agents” and their roles as navigators of the Internet will be critical to everyday life and the future economy. -- Stephen Abram, Vice-President, Micromedia, Ltd.

FROM THE DIRECTOR
On February 28th we went live with our E-Books. If you haven’t already picked up an instructions sheet, get one today so you can get started. You can also visit the E-Book Website at http:// camellia.lib.overdrive.com to find our Library listed. Another good website to review is https:// overdrive.com/help-videos. Instructions for downloading materials can be found here, or you can stop by the Library for assistance. Everything is free of charge and different formats include IPod, MP3 player, Kindle, PC, and all Android devices. Spring break begins the week of March 25th and we have planned activities for our children that we are sure they will enjoy. On Tuesday, March 26th, Artist Tim Richardson will help each of us discover the artist within us. On Wednesday, March 27th, Louise Grider will return with her Owls of Alabama. She has set aside time for the children to get up close to the birds and gently pet them. On Thursday, March 28th the McWane Center is bringing their Planetarium for you to see the constellations and stars. This is a great program and one you’ll really enjoy. Finally on Friday, March 28th we’ll have Two-by-Two Petting Zoo where children can be up and close to a variety of animals they can pet. Programs will be held in the West Wing of the Library at 2:00 and are made possible by funding from United Way. Income Tax Forms We now have a small supply of income tax forms, but we still do not have the 1040 instruction booklet. We hope to have them in soon.
Friends of the Library Book Sale Area The Friends of the Library Book Sale Area is open from 10:00 until 7:00 Tuesday through Thursday and 10:00 until 5:00 Friday and Saturday. Watch for our annual big Book Sale on Saturday, April 6 at 8:00. All proceeds go directly to support the Library.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY By Mo Armstrong, President I would like to start with some good news and thanking everyone in all departments of the book sales. Our Book Sale Room opened in late 2000 and the Amazon.com online sale venture was launched in January of 2008. These profitable ventures allow all receipts to go directly to the Library. Sales have consistently increased and they currently total $57,737.47. In January, book room sales totaled $449.00, the on-line sales totaled $635.50, and a special weekend sale totaled $301.00, for a grand total for January of $1386.50. Again, a job well done to all. For the upcoming year we would like to invite all members to volunteer to help in some of the great events the FOL is planning to make available to the community. On the membership cards there was a place for you to mark a committee that you might be interested in volunteering some of your time in planning and activities. If you would get in touch with the following listed Committee workers, I know they would be grateful to hear from you. For information on the Program Committee contact Liz Babine at 7747145 or Kathy Kalina at 733-5493; to assist with book room sales and on line sales, contact Roberta Hyers at 774-9402 or Pat Walker; Hospitality workers may contact Liz Babine or Georgiana Seymour at 7744555; Membership and Publicity, call Lael Walding at 774-9686; and if you’re interested in Master Gardeners, call Carol Ball at 774-5353. The Friends depend upon our members’ support to meet the needs of the Library. Again, The Friends of the Library would like to invite all members, the community and all businesses to come join us. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 10:30 in the Board Room at the Library.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE
We still offer Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to all our patrons at no charge. If you find a book that you’d like to read and we don’t have it, stop by the Library to see if we can get it from ILL. Our system allows us to search catalogues of libraries located throughout the United States. Stop by to see what we can do for you.

Empty Ink Cartridges Please save any empty ink or toner cartridges for the Library. We can turn them in and receive a small rebate for each one.
