AARP Tax Assistance
AARP is again offering free tax assistance at the Westfield Washington Public Library. Representatives are in the Sumner Room every Friday through April 4. You need to register in advance, and appointments are available between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Please keep in mind that the session prior to yours may run a little long and delay the start time of your session -- a bit like going to the doctor. From the Board of Trustees
The board meeting minutes and issued to Hamilton County packets are posted on the library’s Reciprocal Borrowers. 1,591 items website at www.wwpl.lib.in.us. were checked out using the Self Check station. February 12, 2013 Board Meeting Circulation for January 2013 was 35,496, and of those circulations 1,392 were from Hamilton County Reciprocal Borrowers. 187 items were circulated by patrons from other Evergreen Libraries, and a total of 687 items from WWPL were sent to other Evergreen Libraries. We issued 162 new library cards, and of those 15 were The final construction documents will be received and reviewed by the library board on February 20. The library board will approve the documents at the March 12, 2013 board meeting. The notice to bidders will be advertised on March 14 and March 21. The public bid opening will be held at the Library on Thursday April 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. The library board plans to award contracts at the April 10, 2013 board meeting, and we hope to break ground on or about May 1, 2013.

Adult Activities
Book Discussion Groups The Mystery Book Discussion Group is talking about Every Crooked Nanny, by Kathy Trocheck, when they meet on Wednesday, March 6 at 1 p.m. Come join other mystery lovers at a once-a-month discussion group that meets at the library. You are invited even if you haven’t read the book! Next month’s discussion is: April 3: Defending Jacob by Willliam Landay Room. Beginning and experienced genealogists are welcome to become members. Euchre Group Are you a euchre enthusiast looking for three other players? Join in the fun when the Euchre Group meets at 5:30 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Come enjoy a relaxing evening of fun with some great people at this free program on March 13 and 27! of using a computer, such as using a mouse, keyboard, and basic Windows. The class is offered on Thursday, March 28, at 3 p.m. Want to get started on Facebook? Already have a Facebook account but not sure what to do next? Come to the library for Facebook Fundamentals, a class for beginners that teaches you to set up your page, manage privacy settings, and connect with friends and family! Learn to update your status and add a photo, all while you interact with others online. An email address is required to register for Facebook, but the class is free and is offered on Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. Painting Class Talented artist Jan Roland teaches a class in Watercolor Painting and Techniques on Thursday, March 21, at 10:15 a.m. No previous art experience is necessary, and the class fee of $12 includes all materials.

Teen Tech Week March 10-16
How well can you Karaoke a tune? “So You Think You Can Sing” is your chance to find out in front of your friends and other teens on Wednesday, March 13, at 3 p.m. Show up and give it a shot! The library hosts a Photo Scavenger Hunt for teens on Thursday, March 14, at 3 p.m. We give you the list and you do the hunt. Take pictures and win prizes by yourself or as a team. Use your own camera or phone or borrow one of ours (limited quantity available).

For Teens Only
Anime Manga Club Anime and manga enthusiasts are invited to join us Mondays for the Anime Manga Club. Hang out, watch anime and have snacks starting at 2:30 p.m. You must be 13 or older, or have a parent-signed permission slip to attend. The club meets March 4, 11, 18 and 25. TAG Be part of the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) when it meets at 3 p.m. on Tuesday March 26. We need you to help choose and plan teen library activities. These programs are for you, so come and tell us what you want! DERPZ DERPZ is a club started by teens for teens that meets Thursday March 7 and Tuesday, March 19, 2:30-5 p.m., at the library to play the Wii. You can play just for fun or in real competition against other teens. The library has Wii games to play, but feel free to bring your own -- maybe some you know you can ace! Teens provide the food, so bring some or make a donation. Whatevah Time “Whatevah Time for Teens” is on Tuesday, March 12, at 2:30 p.m., in the Craft Room at the library. Spend the afternoon just hanging out, playing the Wii, eating snacks, talking or doing “whatevah.” Teens Only Movie It’s Teen Movie Time , and the movie is Psycho (© Universal Pictures, NR). In this all-time classic horror movie from director Alfred Hitchcock, a strange young man with a possessive mother runs a remote motel with deadly consequences. The movie is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, and you must be 13 or older to attend.

Children’s Activities
Baby Love Birth to 18 Months Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. March 7, 14, 21 and 28. Give your child a head start to early literacy with this unique program of rhyme, play and song. Free Storytime Every Monday and Tuesday through March 19, Miss Vicki brings you stories, songs, fingerplays and rhymes , and there is also an art project, craft, or activity afterward. Times on Monday are 10:30 a.m. for Toddlers (18 months to 3 1/2 accompanied by a caregiver) and 1 p.m. for Preschoolers (3 1/2 Kindergarten). On Tuesday, times are 10:15 a.m. for Preschoolers and 11:15 a.m. for Toddlers. The program is free, and registration is not required. Paws & Read All Ages Saturday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m. Sign up at the Children's Desk for 10 minutes to read to a dog who is a very good listener. Free Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon Club All Ages Second Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Next Meeting: March 13. Bring your cards, play the games, trade cards, and have fun! Free Homeschool Day All Ages First Thursday of every month at 11 a.m. Next Meeting: March 7. A fun and social event for all those in the area who homeschool. Gather at the library the first Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. to play video games, make crafts and meet others in the community who homeschool. Pottery Classes Kids of all ages will have fun making and decorating clay creations with instructor Jeremy South. The project on Friday, March 22, is Folk Art/ Ukrainian Cow Registration and prepayment are required.
