GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Welcome H.B. London!
Greetings from the shack by the stream. Jane and I realized a couple of weeks ago that we still had a few days of vacation available before this church year ends on May 31. We decided to take them by coming to the cabin and working. I'm not sure why that's therapeutic for me, but it is. I go to bed each night with muscles aching and with genuine feelings of having accomplished something. It's been fun. In my absence from the pulpit today, we are again fortunate to have Dr. H.B. London from Focus on the Family. I'm guessing that, by now, he's starting to refer to some of you on a first name basis. I know that he's one of your favorites and I'm sure he'll minister to you today. Our annual elections are scheduled for June 8th. We've had a couple of scheduling issues that have caused us to change the date at least twice. It would normally be on June 1st, but that's the day we will be recognizing our graduating seniors and it simply made the morning too full. We will be presenting the report from the Nominating Committee next week. That way you will have two weeks to pray about your vote. Dr. McClung has asked that we emphasize prayer for this election and I'm sure that we are doing that in each prayer meeting. The next few months are pivotal as we work with Dr. McClung to sharpen our vision and set our course for the days ahead. I know that the process will be open for all to participate and I hope we'll take advantage of the opportunity. As our Church Year/Fiscal Year comes to a close in just a few more days (May 31st), I want to ask you again to continue your financial faithfulness to DFC. It's been a challenging year financially, and in order to finish in the black, we need a strong effort. Please note the figures on the back of this bulletin and be informed of the need. And God bless you for all you've done and all you're doing in these days. God is good! Anticipating,
