Patch – Twin Cities Local Editor, Associate Regional Editor November 2011• Hired by Patch.com, a division of AOL, to launch the St. Michael Patch site as a local editor in November 2010. Promoted to Associate Regional Editor July 2012. Overseeing team of 12 sites, including Washington and Dakota counties • By May 2011, had created the strongest Patch site in Minnesota, leading a team of freelance reporters and photographers on breaking news stories, local events and networking opportunities. Together, we made St. Michael Patch the go-to source for St. Michael-Albertville residents. • Showed leadership ability filling in for Senior Regional Editor Troy Melhus while he was on parental leave, heading up North Region Team, which contained two of the top sites in the Minnesota Region. • In January 2012, was named 2011 Minnesota Site of the Year by team of Regional Editors. • Met goals each quarter, which lead to me earning top status in annual review conducted by supervising editors. • Over the past 27 months I have become a leader among my peers, who often turn to me with questions ranging from story content to CMS use. • Was used as an example of what to do to accomplish many One Team-One Goal standards, including directory listings and user-generated content. • First site to capture more than 100,000 pageviews, and first Minnesota site to reach 1,000 “likes” on Facebook. August 1997 – September 2006 • Moved quickly through the ranks from intern to editor of the West Fargo Pioneer (weekly newspaper) and Fargo-Moorhead Magazine (bimonthly city magazine) in a matter of four years. • Managed a team of writers, along with working in cooperation with photographers and graphic designers. • Showed dexterity to also apply photography and layout skills in any format. • Helped design, layout and provide content for award-winning magazine that covered general interest stories, events, home building/remodeling ideas and healthrelated topics. • Proficient in capturing stories that might be missed by other publications. • Willing to look deeper into subject matter, and to follow up on stories when time and space allow.

• Winner-General Excellence Award, General Interest Category-30,000 circulation and under: Fargo-Moorhead Magazine captured prestigious honor at 2002 MMPA Awards, placing ahead of well-known publications such as “WHERE-Twin Cities,” the “Lake Superior Magazine” and the “Rochester Bulletin.”
