OUTSTANDING FACULTY MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Earl Holmer for being chosen as April’s Faculty Member of the Month. Professor Holmer was nominated by Alpha Delta Pi for his many “qualities that are most important for an outstanding teacher and role model”. Once again congratulations to Professor Holmer and thank you for all that you do for our students here at Missouri State!

FRATERNITY AND SORORITY CAREERIST

On Wednesday, April 25th IFC, PHA & NPHC hosted the Fraternity & Sorority Careerist with guest presenters from the Career Center. They spoke about different programs and incentives offered through their office including Job Tracks, Resume Madness, Mock Interviews and more. Each presenter also shared that they are members of fraternity and sorority life as well. Nearly 50 people attended with noticeable attendance from FIJI, TKE, Xi Omicron Iota & Zeta Phi Beta. Stay tuned for more programs from the Career Center in Fall 2012. This weekend was very exciting for the NPHC community as four new members were introduced to the community. On Sunday night, April 29th, Phi Beta Sigma held a probate in Carrington Theatre to present the four new members of the fraternity. Probates are a part of the historic culture of the National Pan-Hellenic community and serve as “coming out” ceremony for those who are pledging. New members are not revealed to anybody until the probate and during this ceremony members wear masks while providing facts about their chapter, often participating in a skit and then the chapters designated stroll before being revealed. At the time of reveal, each individual’s line name is revealed as the masks are taken off to show the community who has pledged the chapter. Congratulations to the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, Rho Chi chapter!

ALPHA PHI ALPHA NON-GREEK YARD SHOW
On Saturday afternoon a large crowd gathered at the BearPaw to watch five teams compete in the annual Alpha Phi Alpha Non Greek Yard Show. National Pan-Hellenic Chapters of the Missouri State community found students to imitate strolls and steps that are historic to the NPHC community. Each chapter had members of the opposite sex to fill their team and the men were definitely entertaining as they attempted to dance and act like women. Performances included strolls, chants, and stepping, some included the members of the respective chapter that was being imitated. The winner of the Yard show is based purely off of crowd participation and this year it was difficult to distinguish who won as each team was truly incredible. Eventually one was the clear winner: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, taking the title back from Kappa Alpha Psi, who won in 2011.
