Imat fails to collect database files from the NSU

Publish Date
Jun-9-2006

Description/Symptoms
Imat fails to collect database files from the NSU
Body/Solutions
Symptom:
When using Imat to retrieve the database from the Universal NSU the database files do not appear to have been downloaded. The Imat application simply does not provide information to
identify success or failure to download the database. At the bottom left hand corner of the Imat application, you will see “please select a menu option”. The maintenance logs can be
downloaded, you will get the Imat indication that the maintenance logs have been received.
Solution:
Ensure that the NSU is actually running as isdn node in the link descriptor under the integrated digital access field. If it is not, there are no DBA files, which represent the Imat database.
Maintenance logs are maintained on NSU’s, which is why they can be downloaded.

Cannot do callback and hold transfer across QSIG to an Avaya PBX

Publish Date
Aug-15-2006

Description/Symptoms

Cannot do callback and hold transfer across QSIG to an Avaya PBX
Body/Solutions

Background:
This problem is caused by the interaction of faked answer supervision between call control and the
Q.Sig trunk. Q.Sig trunk in IMAT has an option of sending "fake answer supervision" to call control as
desired.
If the IMAT fake answer supervision flag is off, and the user makes an outgoing QSIG call to the Avaya,
the callback prompt will not appear.
If the IMAT fake answer supervision flag is turned on, the callback prompt appears, however the
hold/transfer button stops working.
Solution:
Set IMAT fake answer supervision flag to off.

Installing system software required for latest Network Service Units

Publish Date
Oct-27-2005

Body/Solutions

The latest Network Service Units (NSUs) require new software to function. Typically, the NSUs
automatically download the required software from the system when they boot. However, depending
on the system software version, you may need to manually install the NSU software in the system. See
the attached document for details, including instructions on how to download and install the required
software.

NSU fails to load.

Publish Date
May-25-2006

Description/Symptoms

NSU\PRI card fail to load after upgrade or database restore.
Body/Solutions

NSU and PRI cards may fail to load because the database version does not match the current
software load on the card.
This can be identified by a serial connection to the maint port of the NSU or the J5\J6 connector on the
back of the EL cabinet. Performing a reboot of the PRI card or NSU will output to the serial connection
at 38400. The last 4 lines will indicate it there is an improper DB on the system. [see below]
These logs indicate that the NSU is waiting for a 1.5 version of DB. From IMAT create a 1.5 DB version
and save to the system and reboot, this will resolve the problem.
In the event that reconnection through IMAT is not possible refer to document 05-5134-0017, NSU FTP
upgrade and recovery.

MN00102484 - Enabling IP license from 0 to NN may require reboot
REPORTED IN SW LOAD – 5.2.6.8
SYMPTOMS
When enabling IP licenses from 0 to any number (say 10), ESM will pop up a dialog windows to suggest that we have to reboot and/or restore database before the new IP
license can be usable. This dialog window contradicts what edocs describes: edocs clearly states that user can use the newly enabled IP licenses without a reboot. In
addition, before the system is rebooted, the end user has no problems programming IP phones, and can make calls. The dialog window is misleading and contract edocs.
MN00120238 - ANI not present on ONS sets with NI2 5ESS protocol
REPORTED IN SW LOAD – 6.1.5.4
