• Home Appliance Control System
accessed by a remote device such as
mobile phone or a palm-top to allow a
home owner to control, monitor and
coordinate home appliances.
Why HACS ???

What’s inside black box
• Black box consists of DTMF
decoder and relay circuits
for integrating it with
household circuits
• Technology used in
interactive voice response
system (IVRS) i.e. the
customer care centre.
• DTMF stands for dual tone
multiple frequency
• Every key of telephone is
associated with a tone
comprising of frequencies
from two groups viz. low
freq. and high freq. group.
• DTMF_Decoder.wav

What we have done
• Designed DTMF
decoder circuit which
consist of three parts:-
i. DTMF to BCD decoder
ii. BCD to 1 of 12 decoder
iii. Relay circuit controlling
• We have implemented
this for controlling
i. Controlling four motions of
robot
ii. And controlling household
devices
• IC-CM8870
• IC-74LS138
• IC-CD4013
• IC-7805(Regulator)
• RELAYS
• TRANSISTOR-BC547
• LEDS
• CRYSTAL-35795MHZ
• TRANSFORMER
• DIODE(1N4007)
• RESISTANCE
• CAPACITOR
• POWER SUPPLY

BLOCK DIAGRAM OF THE CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
• This is the front end user interface for
decoding the DTMF signals.
• When any DTMF audio file is sourced to it
then…
• GUI showing the decoded DTMF signals
• For key pressed with more than 1sec delay are
considered new world
• Lighting and Appliance control
• Security systems & Access control
• Entertainment Systems
• Communication systems
• Wireless radio control
• Mobile wireless robot control
• Reporting during car accidents
• Almost Anything Else you can think of

Future planning cont.
• In coming days we will be completing
the full software
• With dedicated IVRS response and
fully automatic real time DTMF
decoding.
• And your PC will be connected to your
appliances as peripherals.
• And we can control our house by
interacting with audio stored in PC
Thank You
